Urban rail transit has already become a new transport vehicle to relieve urban trafficpressure for its advantages such as high speed, low energy consumption, large volume andlittle pollution. Generally, train operation complies with the contemplated diagram strictly,however, for some random interferences, it is hard to avoid deviation from the planneddiagram, especially for ubran rail transit which has communication based train control (CBTC)system, because of higher traffic density and shorter headway of trains, a train’s delay mayaffect other trains, and it even affects the whole system. Currently, urban rail transit usesautomatic train supervision (ATS) system or dispatcher to adjust delayed trains. Existingregulation methods can only reach the purpose for delayed trains running in the train operationdiagram, and adjust them individually, but without considering its possible impact onsubsequent trains. Therefore, research on train operation regulation methods of urban railtransit has realistic significance.In the thesis, particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is selected to solve trainoperation regulation of urban rail transit. Automatic train regulation system based on PSOalgorithm is designed, and intelligent regulation of train operation is achieved.Firstly, the thesis introduces automatic train regulation principle of urban rail transit ATSsystem, and then analyzes cause, purpose, and strategy of train operation regulation. Thethesis makes a deep analysis about train operation process and related parameters based ontrain diagram description. Further, train station stopping model and section running model areestablished. On the basis of these models, the minimum of the total weighted delay time allthe stations is proposed as the optimization objective to put forward delayed train operationregulation model.Secondly, PSO algorithm is applied to get solution of the model, and the applicationprocess of PSO algorithm in train operation regulation is elaborated in detail, which includesparticles encoding, population initializing, fitness function determining and the algorithmparameters selecting. On this basis, the overall framework of train operation regulation andspecific process are given.Finally, according to data about Xi’an Metro Line2, VC++6.0and SQL server2005database are combined to fulfill design of train operation regulation simulation system, andthe function modules of system are analyzed in detail. Some correspondent functions of trainoperation diagram and timetable with automatic train regulation algorithm are realizedelementarily. The simulation is carried out under individual train delay and train group delay.Simulation results prove that train operation regulation methods based on PSO algorithm iseffective, the deviation from the planned diagram has been greatly improved through train operation regulation, and real-time regulation of the delayed train has been achieved.
