Research On The Renovation Design Of Old Community Public Space Under The Concept Of Micro Renewal

As China’s urban development enters the transformation process from incremental expansion to stock optimization,the renovation and renewal of old communities occupies an important position in the refined development of cities.The renovation of public spaces in old communities involves a wide range of content,presenting diversity in the direction,strategies,and results of renovation.Through the renovation of public spaces,it can alleviate residents’ demand for quality of life and improve the quality of the community environment.There are a series of problems in the current renovation of public spaces in old communities,mainly manifested in three aspects: firstly,historical legacy problems,manifested in insufficient public space and functional degradation;The second is the problem of community building,manifested in low participation of residents and a lack of humanistic atmosphere in the community;The third issue is sustainable development,manifested in the excessive scale and cost of traditional transformation models,unsatisfactory transformation results,and a lack of reflection on the sustainable development of old communities.The micro update design concept provides a scientific and effective guidance method for analyzing and solving the above problems.The micro renewal of public spaces in old communities is a local renewal method based on public participation,with community public spaces and public facilities as the transformation objects.Its value lies in achieving the transformation of old communities through refined,low-cost,and participatory renewal methods,ultimately forming a sustainable and autonomous model of diversified co construction.The micro renewal of public spaces in old communities mainly consists of two parts: subject and object.The subject elements include government departments,relevant enterprises,communities,residents,and social organizations,while the object elements include spatial interfaces,functional spaces,and special designs.On this basis,based on the three principles of micro starting,public participation,and sustainable development,a design strategy of "micro replacement","micro implantation","micro topology","micro integration","micro shaping",and "micro integration" is constructed to achieve the goal of improving spatial functions,improving spatial quality,guiding public participation,and integrating spatial resources.As a representative community of old communities in Jinan City,Chenjialou Community has high research value and is convenient for carrying out micro renewal design practice of public spaces in old communities.Through research,it was found that the main activity groups in the community’s public space are mainly children and the elderly,with the main problems mainly concentrated in aging,inadequate space,single function,and low safety.Based on this,the design concept of "seeing the big in the small,and community rebirth" was proposed.The design plan divides the community public space into five functional areas:children’s activity area,elderly activity area,publicity and education area,sports and fitness area,and comprehensive activity area.Combining the above design strategy,the design is carried out from three aspects: spatial interface,functional space,and special design,Ultimately,scientific and reasonable theoretical guidance will be provided for the design of public space renovation in the Chenjialou community.
