Research On Museum Space Design In The Context Of Grand Canal Culture

China’s Grand Canal,which bears many historical and cultural origins,inspires people’s national pride,and also makes people realize the importance and necessity of the protection and inheritance of Grand Canal and its culture.Grand Canal theme museums all over the country have played a guiding role in promoting the canal culture and provided space for the canal culture to display.However,with the increasing cultural confidence of Chinese citizens,people have put forward more cultural requirements for the form of museum exhibitions.How to enhance the cultural value of museum exhibition space has gradually become a new problem to be solved in museum design.In China’s millennium history,Grand Canal has witnessed the succession of dynasties and has become an indispensable part of our culture.Taking Jining Grand Canal Museum as the carrier,this paper explores the cultural construction of museum exhibition space through the application of cultural elements in the exhibition space.First of all,the author takes the Grand Canal culture and the regional canal culture of Jining section as the research object,sorting out the historical background,cultural characteristics of the canal culture,and the cultural heritage related to the Jining Canal.Secondly,the author investigated the existing Grand Canal theme museum in China,understood the cultural relics background,felt the design details of its exhibition space,and then summarized the design methods of cultural symbol selection,element extraction,element transformation,and element application.Finally,in the design of Jining Grand Canal Museum,based on the above research,we refine the concept,extract elements,and transform them into the form of design elements for presentation,and finally complete the design of cultural museum exhibition space.This provides some reference significance for the design and research of cultural themed museums.
