With the continuous development of the economy,the demand of human society for primary energy is growing,which leads to increased carbon emissions.Various countries have proposed carbon emission targets in response to the increasingly severe environmental problems,and China proposed a dual carbon emission reduction target in September 2020.With the gradual maturity and large-scale integration of wind and photovoltaic technologies,new energy,especially wind power,has become an essential power supply source.However,the increase in wind power penetration rate in the power grid has made it challenging to analyze the stability of the power grid.In addition,with the continuous development of wind turbines towards large-scale and large capacity in recent years,the requirements for design verification,maintenance,and repair of wind turbines are constantly increasing.The continuous development of information technology has gradually matured the technological conditions for digital twins.Digital twin technology can build digital twins in virtual space based on physical entity parameters,fully summarize simulation data and measured data,and realize multiple functions such as wind power information monitoring,data monitoring analysis,3D model visualization,and grid connection stability analysis.It is one of the feasible ways to solve the existing wind power problems.In the digital twin fivedimensional models,the system needs to have features such as visibility and interactivity,so it needs to have software systems to simplify simulation and operation and maintenance operations,making it convenient for users to monitor and analyze wind power entities.The software system can use big data,cloud computing,artificial intelligence,and other information technologies to depict,simulate and display physical entities,which is an ideal way to monitor and analyze the system.The article outlines the requirements and functions of the system and designs to build a wind farm digital twin software system.It develops a cloud-based wind farm digital twin software system,including upper computer software,data service platform,and application examples.The main work of this article is as follows:(1)Based on OpenFAST’s high-precision wind power model and wind power simulation platform(real-time hardware simulator),this paper designs and develops local upper computer software and cloud platform-based B/S architecture upper computer software,which can achieve local simulation control and network simulation management functions respectively.Firstly,to enhance the friendliness of human-computer interaction,the software has reclassified the current wind power model and designed and planned the software page based on Bladed,DIgSILENT/PowerFactory,and CloudPSS.Secondly,the software integrates multiple functional modules of NERL.It deploys the operating environment and various executable programs on the cloud platform,realizing functions such as wind speed generation,model building,simulation management and control,and data analysis.Once again,the software can connect with the hardware simulation platform,achieving real-time simulation start-stop control and data recovery.Finally,the software has built-in data analysis and drawing programs,which can facilitate users’ data analysis,image drawing,and data observation.(2)This article designs a data service platform for processing massive simulation data and measured data in the digital twin system of wind farms.Firstly,the data service platform has set up data processing links for measured and simulated data,which can complete data analysis and noise reduction.Secondly,the data service platform has set up data association and evaluation links to perform association and importance assessment on transmitted data.Finally,the data service platform adopts a storage scheme combining temporal and text databases to store twin data and sets a Json format data interface for easy invocation.(3)To expand the application scenarios of the digital twin system in wind farms,the software system has designed and developed twin application examples for two typical scenarios:wind turbines and wind farms,including wind turbine monitoring systems and wind farm monitoring systems.Both are developed based on the Web and deployed on cloud servers,which users can access directly through a browser.Among them,the wind turbine monitoring system can achieve 3D model visualization,data monitoring,and other functions of wind turbines;The wind farm monitoring system integrates multiple analysis programs and can provide various services such as wind farm topology display,control system display,frequency scanning,and stability domain analysis.
