Narration, which permeates every aspect of daily life, subtly integrates our communication methods and emotional experiences. This research project takes the Yellow River Hotel in Qikou Ancient Town as the main research object, conducts in-depth research and investigation on the current situation of the site, and improves a series of existing problems on the site based on the application of spatial narrative theory in architectural space design. On the one hand, learn and accumulate relevant theoretical knowledge, and try to study the spatial narrative design ideas and methods of historical buildings from a new perspective; On the other hand, rational use of spatial narratology will reveal the historical context contained in the ancient town and historical buildings of Qikou and inject new vitality. In this process,we adhere to the basic path from demand to function, and from function to form, combining theoretical experience with design practice, integrating narrative resources, establishing narrative themes, constructing narrative frameworks, and reviving the vitality of construction through its historical and cultural heritage accumulated over the years.Summarize the narrative elements during the project design process to provide comprehensive guidance for design practice.Using spatial narration as a method for optimizing the construction of spatial sequences in historical buildings has promoted innovative thinking in the transformation of the same type of space, and has far-reaching research value and significance for the modern translation and connotation presentation of historical architectural space. In the spatial transformation of the Yellow River Hotel, the inherent problems in the architectural space, moving lines, and boundaries were improved and reorganized. It enhances the spatial experience of tourists,as well as the continuation, inheritance, and development of local culture. This article is divided into six parts: The first chapter introduces the research background and overview of the current research situation, and proposes spatial narrative theory as the basis and guidance for the research object. The second chapter is a detailed description of the theory of spatial narration, including its theoretical development from narration to spatial narration,as well as its relevant perspectives and specific applications in the field of design. The third chapter systematically expresses narrative elements, media, and paths in the transformation of architectural space,as well as combs and constructs narrative content, node processing, and finally generates a deep experience of space through narrative expression. The fourth chapter introduces and interprets the research on the project background, location, architectural overview, environmental resources, cultural resources, and other aspects. The fifth chapter describes the transformation requirements, design concepts and expressions,as well as the presentation of the final plan and results in the design practice of the Yellow River Hotel.Chapter VI is a summary of the full text,as well as shortcomings and future prospects.
