In recent years, with the rapid development of the garment industry, the competition among enterprises has become increasingly fierce. Many overseas fast fashion brands have become popular in China and occupied a large number of the garment market. Therefore, some enterprises begin to change the traditional mode of operation and improve the strategic layout in order to find a breakthrough in business. In this context,Smith Barney has got rid of the traditional asset-heavy business model and adopted the asset-light business model. However, although this model can bring larger profits with fewer resources, the subsequent financial risks should not be underestimated. The asset-light business model initially emerged in China’s real estate industry.Vanke,Country Garden and other enterprises have adopted the asset-light business model, which not only reduces production costs, but also provides sufficient working capital supply, and brings huge benefits to enterprises. However, after Smith Barney adopted this model, the financial risk increased instead of decreasing.Based on this, this paper considers the development characteristics of the garment industry and the company’s own operating conditions. In order to judge the main financial risks of the company, the F-score model method can be used to determine the size of the financial risks of the company.Through the conclusion of the model, the financial risks of the company are evaluated, and the results are analyzed. Finally,on the basis of the above mentioned, some specific suggestions are put forward, hoping to provide some help for the subsequent development of Smith Barney clothing, but also some reference value for some enterprises that are in the transition stage and encounter the bottleneck of the development of asset-heavy mode.
