Textile Trademark Arrangement And Research Of Japanese Textile Mills In Shanghai Before The Anti-Japanese War(1904-1937)

The modern Japanese cotton mills in Shanghai are an important part of the modern Japanese cotton textile industry investment in China,and they are also important subjects in the study of China’s textile history.Most of them discuss the development of Japanese cotton textile industry in China from the perspective of Japan’s economic relations with China and China’s industrialization in modern times,but pay little attention to the trademarks of Japanese cotton mills.As a bridge connecting enterprises and the market,trademark is an important tool for foreign enterprises to enter the Chinese market in modern times.This paper tries to collect the patterns of registered trademarks of Japanese cotton mills in Shanghai as comprehensively as possible by combing the historical materials related to the trademarks of the mills.And on this basis,the use of statistics,comparative law and literature analysis and other historical research methods in 1904-1937 years in Shanghai Japanese cotton mill registered trademarks and research,To explore the characteristics and functions of textile trademarks in Shanghai and Japanese-owned cotton mill.The main content of this paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is the formation and development of trademarks.First of all,it discusses the formation and definition of the word "trademark" in modern times,and understands the function and value of trademark.The second part of the late Qing Dynasty government promulgated the "Trademark Registration Trial Charter," the Beiyang government and the Nanjing National Government promulgated the "Trademark Law," the content of comb,and separately with the foreign trade mark management provisions listed out for analysis.In addition,it also summarizes the trademark registration of Chinese and foreign manufacturers in Shanghai in different periods.Thus,we can understand the background of trademark use of foreign businessmen in China in modern times.The second chapter is the collection and arrangement of textile trademarks in Shanghai Japanese textile mill.First of all,the development process of Japanese cotton textile industry in Shanghai is introduced.Understand the development background of Japanese-funded enterprises in Shanghai and the basic situation of the nine major cotton mills(including Neiwaimian,Rihua,Shanghai Textile,Donghua,Tongxing,Yufeng,Gongda,Toyota,Daikang and other Japanese-funded cotton mills).Secondly,according to the relevant historical data,we collect and sort out the textile trademarks of the nine Japanese-funded cotton mills in Shanghai.It also introduces the registration of each type of textile trademark.Finally,the problems in the collection process are analyzed one by one.The third chapter classifies and studies the textile trademarks of Japanese cotton mill in Shanghai.The first part is to classify the collected textile trademarks according to the pattern theme and introduce the situation of all kinds of textile trademarks in detail.The second part is through the analysis of the theme of the trademark,to understand the design motivation of the textile trademark of the Japanese-funded cotton mill in Shanghai.Finally,the textile trademarks of Japanese cotton mills in Shanghai and Chinese textile trademarks in Shanghai at the same time are compared.
