| The 7th China Population Census shows that in 2020,the number of elderly people aged 60 and above in China was approximately 264 million, and the number of elderly people aged 65 and above was approximately 191 million.China has fully entered an aging society. With the advancement of urbanization, the situation of aging population structure in rural areas of China is becoming more severe.Walking,as a basic exercise function, significantly affects the degree of independence of the elderly. As a spatial carrier for elderly walking, the walking environment in residential areas has an impact on the overall quality of life of the elderly due to its adaptability to aging.Due to the lagging nature of rural construction. The mobility of elderly people in rural areas is more constrained by the environment, and a comprehensive design of aging friendly walking environments in rural residential areas urgently needs to be studied.Based on the above issues, this article aims to comprehensively explore the general laws of aging friendly design for rural residential pedestrian environments, study the current situation and solutions of aging friendly design for rural pedestrian environments, and ultimately summarize its aging friendly design strategies based on evidence-based research evidence and the current situation of rural residential pedestrian environments. This article first studies the evidence of the impact of walking environment factors in residential areas on elderly walking behavior and fall risk through umbrella evaluation, linking the physiological and behavioral characteristics of the elderly with the impact of the environment.Secondly, taking the villages of Zhoukou City in Henan Province as the object of evidence-based research, through questionnaires,Field research and other methods, this paper analyzes the aging problem of the rural walking environment in this area.Once again, the results of evidence-based research and evidence-based research will be mutually confirmed, and combined with excellent cases at home and abroad, the aging adaptation strategies for pedestrian environments in residential areas will be summarized. Finally, design practice is carried out under the guidance of design strategies. This article identifies the levels of walking environmental factors in human settlements that affect gait changes and fall risk in elderly people through evidence-based research.Through evidence-based research,it is found that the walking environment of sample rural residential areas in Zhoukou City,Henan Province has such aging problems as poor lighting conditions, poor space thermal environment, unreasonable space functions, restrictions on ground traffic environment, lack of barrier free auxiliary facilities, and non-standard design of environmental details.By comparing the conclusions of evidence-based research with the findings of evidence-based research on aging adaptation issues, and combining with the actual physiological and behavioral needs of elderly people in the sample area for walking environments, this article proposes aging adaptation design strategies for walking environments in sample residential areas from four aspects:environmental details, items or facilities in the environment, spatial environmental functions, and physical environment.Under the guidance of the design strategy, the walking environment of Wangsi’an Village,Zhoukou City,Henan Province was designed and practiced. This study focuses on the walking environment needs that vary with the physical condition of the elderly, and provides targeted environmental support for improving the environment. From the perspective of a healthy living environment,it provides scientific basis for creating a suitable walking environment for the elderly’s living and living in residential areas.Improving the self-care ability of rural elderly groups from the perspective of reducing environmental constraints on elderly walking behavior can help improve the overall quality of life of the elderly in the region. |
