Shanghai is a city born of water and flourished by water.Today, with the rapid advancement of economic construction and urbanization, urban waterfront areas have emerged.Because of its special geographical location and landscape resources, the urban waterfront district attracts different people to work, live and play here, forming a special spatial and temporal dynamic pattern. At the same time,as well as the waterfront is one of the main landscape elements of urban public area.Continuously developing,it has become a global trend of urban development to connect the city through the water system and construct a "golden triangle.".Combined with the current reality of the normalization of the new crown epidemic,it is particularly important to promote the domestic economic cycle, develop domestic leisure tourism and build a vibrant neighborhood. With the increasing proportion of leisure and recreation functions in the renewal of urban waterfront public space, the creation of high-quality waterfront public space is the key to turning Huangpu River into a "world living room".The potential impact of urban waterfront space development and construction on urban landscape and surrounding area development has been widely acknowledged. This study uses Baidu heat map data and POI data as the basic research data, combined with web text to analyze the perceptions of recreationists, and takes advantage of the large amount and high accuracy of multi-source data to break through the limitations of existing research,in order to enrich the theoretical research results and explore the general rules of the factors influencing the vitality of waterfront space. We use thermal analysis data to detect and vectorize the vitality of the waterfront neighborhood every two hours on weekdays and rest days, and quantify the vitality of the waterfront neighborhood based on the crowd gathering degree in the thermal data, while using POI data to quantitatively study the factors affecting the vitality of the waterfront neighborhood,so as to optimize the limitations of previous studies that generally select The limitations of single data studies. The final conclusion of the study is that the development of waterfront public space vibrancy varies greatly, and the overconcentrated spatial layout in the core section leads to an imbalance between the upstream and downstream sections;the duration of nighttime vibrancy in the waterfront public space of Huangpu River is relatively short. From the analysis of the data,it is found that the level of activity decreases quickly on both rest days and weekdays, with the peak of activity occurring between 18:00 and 20:00,decreasing rapidly after 20:00,and continuing to decrease at night until 22:00;the functional diversity within the core section of the Huangpu River waterfront public space is good, while the functional diversity in the upstream section is relatively poor, and cannot form a rich and diverse functional structure, which is related to the fact that the functional division of the Huangpu River waterfront public space has a different spatial distribution. This is related to the spatial function division along the Huangpu River. In response to the above conclusions, improvement of the vitality of the Huangpu River waterfront space in terms of improving the attractiveness of the waterfront area is needed, increasing the vitality at night, enhancing the adaptability of the waterfront area to the surrounding environment, and shaping the brand of the waterfront public space of Huangpu River.
