Since the 18 th Party Congress and since the 20 th Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping has visited old revolutionary areas, visited sacred revolutionary sites and promoted the revolutionary spirit many times, and has constantly stressed the importance of old revolutionary sites;in this new era,it is of profound significance to inherit the red gene and to protect and make good use of old revolutionary sites. This thesis takes the old revolutionary sites in Shandong Province as the research direction, based on the discipline of design and the research results of other disciplines, analyses the theoretical basis of "eventfulness" and explores the "eventfulness" contained in the old revolutionary sites. At the same time, the Kui Xu Book Collection in Jinan is chosen as the main body of the design, and the event of "holding the surrender ceremony of the invading Japanese army in Shandong war zone" is taken as the basis for the design, with the restoration of the architectural spatial environment of the event as the design objective.Through spatial design and application analysis, the design strategy is refined with significance,so as to achieve accuracy and rationality in the interpretation of the spatial design of the event, and to provide a strategy and reference for the dissemination of red culture from the professional perspective of design, thus responding to the current trend of social development and cultural construction. This thesis focuses on the "eventful" nature of revolutionary sites in Shandong Province,in particular the Kui Xu Book Collection, and be divided into six chapters: Chapter 1 is the introduction, which presents the general idea of the thesis, including the background, purpose and significance of the research.Chapter 2 focuses on defines the concept and theoretical study of revolutionary sites and "eventfulness",and compares the historical history of revolutionary sites in Shandong Province.Chapter 3 provides a detailed analysis of typical cases in Shandong Province from the perspective of the attributes of "eventfulness",and explores the role of "eventfulness" in revolutionary organisations and revolutionary figures.Chapter 4 introduces the background of the renovation design of the Kui Xu Book Collection, and summarises the design strategies in the light of the theoretical basis and creative methods in the previous chapters.Chapter 5 takes the Kui Xu Book Collection as a place of practice, capturing the specific event of "holding the surrender ceremony of the war zone of the invading Japanese army in Shandong" and transforming it into a memorial hall for the surrender of Shandong Province through spatial design strategies and expressions, enriching the exhibition and education methods, making the theoretical basis and design strategies applicable in the red culture exhibition hall, with certain typicality and promotion, and generating more profound significance in cultural dissemination and patriotic education. The design of the exhibition is based on the theoretical foundations and design strategies that can be applied to the red culture pavilion. The renovation and optimisation of the Memorial Hall of the Surrender of the Victory of the Anti-Japanese War in Shandong Province will enable visitors to view the history of the revolution, understand the events and stories of the revolution more intuitively, and develop an emotional resonance with the old revolutionary sites, which will hopefully provide experience and design inspiration for the conservation and utilisation of similar types of old revolutionary sites.
