The rapid development of rail transit has made travel more convenient for people. In the future, the regional development forms will be mainly urban agglomerations and metropolitan circles.Under this background, intercity trains will gradually become the best choice for short-and medium-distance railway transportation.Achieving "zero distance" transfer between intercity trains and other public means of transportation in the city is the key to the efficiency of intercity train transportation. At present, the transfer space between intercity trains and other public transportation is usually integrated into large or even extralarge comprehensive passenger hubs.Although such planning and design can effectively integrate land resources and provide passengers with more travel options in the same space, but with the continuous acceleration of the process of public transportation of intercity trains, the form of transfer hub stations will gradually be dominated by small and medium-sized stations. The three-dimensional transfer mode, which has the advantages of highly concentrated transfer lines and can effectively save land resources, will also become the future development trend. However,in actual operation, the complexity of the threedimensional transfer space usually brings a poor transfer experience to passengers.Whether the layout of the three-dimensional transfer space and the organization of transfer lines can meet the current and even long-term transfer needs still needs to be verified.Based on the above background and problems, this paper focuses on the research on the three-dimensional transfer space of small and medium-sized comprehensive passenger hubs dominated by intercity trains.Taking Chengdu West Railway Station as an example,it analyzes the prominent problems in the current use of this space and its impact on transfer.factors of efficiency, and proposes an optimal design strategy to provide a reference for the future design of this type of space. This paper firstly defines the relevant concepts of the three-dimensional transfer space of the small and medium-sized integrated passenger hub dominated by intercity trains on the basis of summarizing relevant research at home and abroad;Afterwards,a preliminary investigation was conducted on Chengdu West Railway Station.Secondly, this paper uses the questionnaire survey method to understand the basic characteristics of passengers, and conducts random interviews to understand the feelings and demands of passengers on the transfer space. The transfer flow line is simulated and analyzed.Through comparative analysis of transfer time, spatial passenger flow density,cross-sectional passenger flow, and transfer path, the deficiencies in the current use of transfer space are found out.Predict and simulate the usage of the transfer space, and put forward relevant suggestions for the future development of the space;Combine the theory of space syntax and related software, analyze the accessibility, line of sight and intelligibility of the transfer space, and obtain the impact on the transfer efficiency.and an important factor in the transfer experience. Then, according to the problems found in the analysis, starting from the plane layout and transfer streamline, the transfer space is optimized, and corresponding optimization suggestions are put forward, and the optimized results are verified to prove the feasibility of the optimization scheme. Finally, according to the problems found in the research process, the design principles that should be followed in the design of this type of building space are proposed, and the feasible design strategies are proposed according to the design principles.
