Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous development of science and technology and the acceleration of industrialization,the demand for high-quality,innovative and practical talents in the machinery manufacturing industry is increasing.However,in the traditional classroom teaching of mechanical fundamentals,students passively receive knowledge and focus only on theoretical knowledge inculcation,lacking practical operation and comprehensive ability cultivation,resulting in the quality of knowledge and skill level that students master cannot meet the actual demand.This study aims to explore the integration of the engineering education concept CDIO(Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate)with the flipped classroom teaching mode,and construct a teaching mode suitable for mechanical students to learn the basic mechanical courses.Taking the CDIO concept as a guide and the middle-level "Mechanical Fundamentals" course as an example,the specific teaching implementation is combined with the flipped classroom teaching mode to achieve the goal of combining the knowledge and practice of the mechanical fundamentals course,improving students’ skill level and comprehensive ability,and cultivating high-quality,innovative and practice-oriented mechanical professionals.This study firstly analyzes systematically the current situation of research on CDIO concept,the current situation of applying flipped classroom teaching mode,the current situation of introducing CDIO concept into curriculum,and the current situation of integrating CDIO concept and flipped classroom.Through research on teachers and students in secondary schools,we understand the current teaching status and learning status of secondary mechanical courses,the problems of disconnect between students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills,teachers’ conservative teaching concepts,and single teaching evaluation methods.Based on the above survey summary,this study implements constructivist and humanistic learning theories,constructs a flipped classroom teaching model based on CDIO concept according to the CDIO competence cultivation syllabus and 12 criteria of CDIO,improves teaching evaluation,and carries out teaching practice in the middle-level "Mechanical Fundamentals" course.The results and questionnaires confirmed that the students’ professionalism and personal comprehensive ability were significantly improved after the teaching model reform.The study shows that the integration of CDIO engineering education concept and flipped classroom teaching mode can effectively improve the shortcomings of teaching the middle-level "Mechanical Fundamentals" course,improve students’ learning performance,cultivate students’ comprehensive quality and vocational ability,and have significant effects on improving students’ ability of subject basic knowledge,personal vocational ability,interpersonal ability and the whole CDIO whole process ability.This study can effectively promote the reform of teaching mode and provide experience for the teaching reform of other courses.
