| Urbanisation has resulted in less and less green space in cities, and the popularity of electronic products has made urban children reluctant to go outside, resulting in phenomena such as ’nature deficit disorder’ and ’rising obesity rates among young people’.Cities need green spaces and children need to embrace nature, learn in nature,be friends with nature, take nature as their teacher, interact and play with nature’s animals, explore the world and develop a love for children.Urban children do not have effective ways to get close to small animals and cannot meet their needs for animals. Some children have not even come into contact with cute animals other than small cats and dogs, and their knowledge of animals is rather lacking. How to address children’s need for nature and animals and create a natural and interactive playground for children in the city where they can play with small animals up close has become an important issue that we need to address nowadays. This paper firstly presents the research problem, the purpose and significance of the research, analyses the current situation at home and abroad, and proposes the main content and framework of the research,so as to prepare the background for the following text. The thesis then summarises the strengths and weaknesses of existing children’s space design through field research and questionnaire interviews, and combines other outstanding cases from home and abroad to obtain valuable design concepts and methods;finally,a set of design strategies for a cute pet theme park suitable for urban children are summarised for the application of spatial planning and landscape elements in children’s parks. At the end of the thesis, the theoretical basis and design strategies are applied to the design of the cute pet theme park, and the research results are practiced and applied. In summary,it is hoped that this research will provide solutions and reference significance for future theme-based children’s park designs. |
