With the development of modern urban society,"gigantic" buildings, including huge monomer buildings, overall large-scale construction of building groups and infrastructures, have become an important representation of modern cities and buildings"production beyond the traditional space limits. The original clear boundary between architecture and city becomes blurred due to the excessive scale.Architecture occupies urban space and also connects to and assumes part of urban functions.Urban spaces are "architectural occupationed" and thus become urban problems. The architectural occupation of urban spaces guided by "giganticness" is a new space produced in the new production relations based on modern productive forces. The new space influences and transforms the existing "everyday life" in the city and shapes the new one.The core of this paper’s probe lies in a speculative understanding of the relationship between "giganticness","everyday life" and space.First of all,a relatively macro understanding should be constructed through the connection of basic theories in related fields: "giganticness" and "everyday life" involve the production of space, the perception of space and the survival of individuals in the complex social system. The relationship between them is also an important object in the construction and criticism of architectural theory under the issue of modernity, and has become the key to reflect on modern architecture and urban movement. On the basis of theoretical understanding, the generation of "giganticness" and the architectural occupation of urban spaces are placed in the historical process: from the industrial revolution to the early stage of the modern movement, the society was dominated by large industrial production,at this time "giganticness" was generated as production space; In the 1960 s,the capitalist production-oriented society was transformed into a consumption-oriented society. At this time, the "gigantic" consumption space was represented as metropolis.Entering the new millennium of the21 st century, with the advent of globalization and information age,"giganticness" will be promoted to become a platform and overall environment.By sorting out the phenomenon characteristics of the three spatial transitions in different periods and summarizing the three spatial production mechanisms of abstraction, exchange and delocalization,it can be found that the "everyday life" changes rapidly in this process and uncertainty has become the normal state of it.Then, the research is about the specific field of architecture, there are four types been summarized: including space material and structural level like "huge monomer","cluster and network","field",as well as the space concept level to advocate a kind of ideological trend and way of life.It shapes "giganticness" and architectural occupation of urban spaces into an ideological tool to influence people’s imagination and choice of "everyday life" in cities. On the other side of the problems under the "resistance architecture” category of the "giganticness" condition, this paper study the resistance of the critical theory both inside and outside, explore the value associated with the theory of position: To resist"giganticness" by creating and criticizing "everyday life",including resistance to rational abstraction, division of labor, uncertainty and space control, the practical cases involved in each direction of resistance have become strategies in modern urban space and architectural production. This is a concrete response to the relationship between"giganticness" and "everyday life" and the problems in it at the level of architectural practice. Finally,in this paper, the "giganticness" and "everyday life" relationship, and reflects the modern urban space buildings, summarizes the plight of the modern city,in the face of difficulties need to make a change-that is,to change the space also to change the everyday life, thus to discuss three kinds of dealing with the " giganticness " and architectural occupation of urban spaces may point to practical problems. In general,The future of urban space should oppose the gaze, quantification and homogeneity, also the appropriation of "public" by the conceit of power and "private" capital interests, and the "production" of cities as standard products by space specialization and narrow function.A beautiful city in the future should be open to all people to have rights of entrance to the city, advocate in collective energetic daily communication and complete personal experience of everyday life practice,to explore the "everyday life" gameplay, embedded in the social reality of autonomy, autonomous, spontaneously produce and possession difference space, with the help of vivid "everyday life" to create as works of art city,And live in it as a whole self.
