Abstract/Summary:
Although China has gained a certain global voice in the new energy vehicle industry,it still faces the problem of chip shortage.As the key core power device in new energy vehicles,IGBT chip has always been in the hands of foreign manufacturers,facing a severe "neck sticking" crisis.BYD is a private enterprise established in the 1990s.In the face of foreign technical blockade and monopoly on vehicle specification level IGBT,BYD has always been committed to independent research and development of IGBT chip,and has successfully built the whole industry chain of IGBT from research and development to sales.It is the only vehicle enterprise in China to realize the self-production and self-sales of IGBT.This paper mainly adopts the single case longitudinal research method,selects BYD as the research object,combs the relevant literature at home and abroad in detail,combines the first-hand interview data and a large number of second-hand data,takes the process as the center to show the basic fact context of the case,keeps the key details,and carries on the analysis and discussion of the case on this basis,in order to understand the problem of "how China’s new energy vehicle industry can get rid of the ’neck’ of semiconductor core technology and realize the independent control of key core technology".Finally,with a set of coherent causal logic propositions,this paper systematically answers the basic theoretical logic to solve the "neck sticking" problem of the key core technology.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Affected by the characteristics of technology,enterprise and environment,enterprises adopt the technology acquisition mode of internal R&D.(2)In order to develop the core technology internally and firmly grasp the core technology,so as to realize technological self-reliance,the establishment of product development platform is a necessary condition.(3)There is an interactive relationship between product development platform and backward integration.Specifically,there is a positive feedback relationship between the technical iteration through the product development platform and the production capacity through backward integration.Finally,based on the research conclusions,this paper also provides suggestions on how to solve the "neck sticking" problem and realize the independent control of key core technologies in the new energy vehicle industry from the aspects that enterprises should pay attention to technology research and development and finally implement it to the production link,and should make good use of the local market demand.
