In the era of digital economy,China has formulated a series of policies related to digital transformation of manufacturing industry with the main line of "Made in China2025" promulgated by the State Council in 2015,requiring manufacturing enterprises to take digital transformation as the starting point to improve manufacturing level.It can be seen that digital transformation is an inevitable trend for the development of traditional manufacturing enterprises,and digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises has become a top priority.At the same time,digital transformation is a hot topic of discussion in academic circles.Based on this,this paper studies the value creation role of digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises.On the basis of sorting out the value creation mechanism of digital transformation,this paper selects a typical case company of digital transformation-XCMG through QCA,and analyzes the necessity and development history of digital transformation of XCMG.Based on this,we analyze the value creation path of XCMG in promoting digital transformation in five aspects: product development,manufacturing,operation control,marketing service and comprehensive management,and use financial capability,EVA method and DEA method to comprehensively analyze the value creation consequences of digital transformation of XCMG,compare and analyze the shortcomings in the digital transformation path of the company and propose optimization suggestions.Through the study,it is found that digital transformation has an important role in enhancing enterprise value.Firstly,based on the value chain theory,digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises as a whole and in each link can realize value creation.Digital transformation can avoid information silos,promote two-way feedback of data,enhance timely response of links and tap potential value,while enterprises can optimize each value chain link through digital transformation,thus realizing value creation.Secondly,through an in-depth study of XCMG,we found that the company has realized digital transformation of the whole value chain,and digital transformation has optimized each link of the value chain to achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement,process re-engineering,and enhance the company’s sustainable competitiveness.Thirdly,digital transformation has created value for XCMG,and the company’s financial capability,EVA value and value-driven efficiency are gradually rising,with greater potential for development.However,compared with other companies in the same industry,there are still shortcomings.Based on this,this paper proposes optimization of the value creation path of XCMG’s digital transformation.This paper clarifies the theoretical feasibility of digital transformation value creation and enriches the theory of digital transformation value creation path.It also takes XCMG as a case enterprise,provides a case perspective for the study of value creation of digital transformation,analyzes the consequences of value creation of digital transformation in a more comprehensive way,expands the measurement of the consequences of value creation of digital transformation,and provides a realistic reference for the digital transformation of other manufacturing enterprises.
