In recent years,major natural disasters and health events have occurred frequently around the world,extreme weather has appeared repeatedly,the harm caused by environmental degradation to the world has become worse and worse,and the contradiction between human-beings and nature has become increasingly prominent.Under this background,protecting the ecological environment,guiding the formation of eco-friendly way of life,and carring out nature education that can promote harmonious coexistence between man and nature have become a hot topic.As a special urban garden,the botanical garden provides a good activity space and educational resources for urban children’s nature education because of its convenient transportation.As a place that carries the function of science popularization education in the botanical garden,the plant popular science base integrates the concept of natural education.It is of great research significance and value to expand the content of popular science,change the traditional popular science method,and increase human’s contact with nature,so as to alleviate and cure the nature-deficit disorder of contemporary people and promote popular science.(1)From the perspective of landscape architecture discipline,the study adopts literature research method,case analysis method,field investigation method,inductive analysis method and other research methods to design plant popular science base in the botanical garden based on the concept of natural education,the following conclusions can be drawn.(2)The study analyzes relevant research progress at home and abroad,and comes and summarizes the relevant concepts of botanical gardens,nature education,popular science education,cognitive development theory,ecological perception theory,landscape perception theory,horticultural therapy theory,environmental behavior theory.Moreover,referring to the nature education design examples of five plant popular science bases in botanical garden at home and abroad,the study provides theoretical reference for the landscape design of plant popular science bases in botanical garden based on the concept of nature education.(3)The study clarified the characteristics and landscape types of plant popular science bases based on the concept of nature education,namely,the content of popular science is extensive,the way of popular science is diverse,and the site of popular science is natural.There are five landscape types of popular science:science stories,science observation,science experience,science practice,science exploration and other landscape types.And it puts forward the principles of landscape design,namely science popularization,interactivity,enjoyment and richness.The content of landscape design of nature education plant popular science base are landscape space design,landscape element design,activity design,etc.(4)Taking the Botanical Science Base of Xiangxi Botanical Garden as a practical case,and giving it the theoretical research,the landscape design of the site is carried out.Finally,a nature science park that aggregates various popular science activities,integrates various popular science contents,and has full of the sence of experience will be built.At the same time,the author hopes that through this study,the nature education function of the plant popular science base can be improved,and new ideas and references can be provided for the subsequent construction of the plant popular science base in botanical garden.
