In recent years,the complex and volatile international political and economic environment has led to a slowdown in the growth rate of the traditional manufacturing industry and intensified competition.In this severe environment,the workshop facilities layout problem has received attention as an effective solution of reducing costs and increasing efficiency for manufacturing enterprises.At present,many domestic enterprises are facing the problem of irrational facilities layout,and urgently need guidance based on effective methodology.However,traditional facilities layout methods can just provide limited value for them.In this context,this thesis studied the facilities layout problem of MC workshop in company A.Firstly,the thesis introduced the related methodology of facility layout,summarized the limitations and optimizations of each methodology,and designed the improved SLP method based on the traditional SLP method and the current situation of the MC workshop.Secondly,the thesis described the basic situation of the MC workshop,then identified the significant layout problem which need to be optimized of the workshop.Thirdly,based on the improved SLP method,the thesis analyzed the logistics relationship and non-logistics relationship between the work units,and built the comprehensive relationship model of the MC workshop.Fourthly,the thesis coded the layout model on the MATLAB platform and solved the model by using the PSO algorithm.Finally,this thesis evaluated and optimized the solution calculated by the algorithm,selected the best layout plan and compared it with the original layout.This research has both theoretical and practical value.In terms of theoretical value,this research improved the traditional SLP method,bring the analysis of the relationship between the operation unit area and logistics-related costs into the SLP,so that the improved SLP method can calculate the location and area of the work units at the same time.In terms of practical value,this research has reduced the handling costs of the MC workshop by 44%,the total logistics-related costs by 8%,and has improved the operational efficiency of the workshop,which has reference significance for the facilities layout in similar scenarios.
