Due to the limitations of fabric structure and knitting process conditions,weft knitted jacquard pattern can only include a few colors.For the purpose to transform digital images into weft knitted jacquard patterns automatically with less detail losing,there were two different styles of algorithms for generating weft knitted jacquard patterns and adaptive algorithms for fabric simulation in this paper.One of the style of pattern generation algorithms was generated by combining Saturation and Value stratification in HSV space.Firstly,the image was transferred from RGB space into HSV space,the Hues of the image were quantified to 2-3through Otsu method,and then the different Saturations and Values in the image were replaced by a mapping template,which was used to combine the 2 or 3 different hues with pure black and pure white to present varied colors in original image.Finally generated a drafted pattern for weft knitted jacquard fabric with pseudocolor images which contains only 2-3 different hues’ colors and black and white,so the number of colors in the pattern will be 4-5,which is suitable as weft knitted jacquard pattern.The fabric style formed can also be adjusted by mapping templates.Another algorithm is to create jacquard pattern with pencil drawing genre,which can provide directly generated pencil drawing pattern for some people who have no painting experience.It mainly started from the two aspects of pencil texture and contour.For the texture of pencil drawing,this paper carried out color compression on the image after local histogram equalization.Texture was generated by matching two blur angles with four levels of motion blur after adding four levels of noise.Then morphology operator was used to simulate the pencil contour.Finally,the contour and texture were superimposed to generate the pencil drawing pattern.This method can be applied to pencil drawing style for both gray pattern and pseudocolor pattern.The authenticity of the fabric simulation effect directly determines how to improve the later design scheme and whether to put it into mass production and other important decisions.When developing a simulation algorithm with high fitness,the real effect of the fabric can be directly seen without going through the trial weaving process.In this paper,there was a twodimensional method to simulate the effect surface of the fabric.It was uniform for the front winding structure of weft knitted jacquard image fabric.In order to present the texture characteristics of real fabric in the knitted simulation image better,there was a basic idea of simulation to map each grid in the pattern expressing the color of the front winding into a unit coil.Through the coil texture matrix formed by the coil element template combined with the design color list,the coil element of different colors was obtained.Then,according to the pattern design map,the mask principle was used to partially overlap the coil element to realize the longitudinal set between the coil elements,so as to simulate the weft knitted jacquard fabric.
