Traditional clothing patterns are the epitome of ancient decorative beauty and an important component of China’s excellent traditional culture.The clothing patterns of the Ming and Qing dynasties were the pinnacle of traditional clothing patterns.The themes,combinations,meanings,craftsmanship,and colors of the patterns all developed to a high level.As a historical image with the function of recording the reality of the times,the dress patterns in the paintings of beautiful women in the Ming and Qing dynasties are carriers that concentrate the essence of the dress patterns in the Ming and Qing dynasties and have high research value and development prospects.However,through literature research and other means,the author found that due to the relatively limited research on clothing patterns and paintings of beautiful women in the Ming and Qing dynasties compared to other dynasties,the value of clothing patterns in the paintings of beautiful women in the Ming and Qing dynasties has also been unknown for a long time.On the basis of studying previous studies,this topic uses Ming and Qing Dynasty paintings of beautiful women as the research carrier,and utilizes the multi-level groups recorded by them,such as nobles and civilians,to analyze the artistic characteristics and patterns of clothing patterns in the paintings,such as pattern themes,pattern meanings,user identities,composition shapes,color combinations,etc.Through hand drawn illustrations,pattern analysis and digital display are carried out to analyze the wearer’s identity,image environment The use value of patterns,and the induction of popular themes in different eras,combined with literature,physical research,and other aspects,are used to speculate and analyze the color process and production process of typical beauty painting clothing patterns.The aesthetic value of color matching is analyzed based on traditional Chinese grass and wood dyeing techniques.
