With the increasingly severe environmental problems,low-carbon development has become an urgent research topic, and campuses,as high-density energy consumption units, are one of the focuses of low-carbon research. Many scholars believe that an effective campus low-carbon service system should be established to help campuses reduce carbon emissions. However, there is a certain gap between theoretical research results and design thinking in the past, making it difficult to apply these research results to actual design.Octalysis analysis has accumulated a large number of effective and feasible cases in the field of game design, and this kind of game design thinking has also been extended to other fields, such as gamification, education, and service design. Therefore, this study believes that using the Octalysis analysis theory to explore the driving force of low-carbon behavior and gamifying the design of the campus low-carbon service system can play a more direct and clear guiding role in the design of the campus low-carbon service system. This study combines the Octalysis analysis theory with the low-carbon behavior theory through literature review, and constructs the core driving force framework of campus low-carbon behavior; The degree of recognition of each core driving force and the intention to engage in low-carbon behaviors are used to explore the influence of each core driving force on behavioral intentions. The results of the study found that meaning, achievement, creation, ownership, social interaction, exploration, scarcity and low-carbon behavior intentions have positive and significant correlations among the driving forces, and avoidance and behavior intentions have negative and weak correlations. The user’s low-carbon behavior intention prediction model shows that the three core driving forces of meaning, achievement, and scarcity have a significant positive impact on users’ low-carbon behavior intention. Then according to the research results,an effective campus low-carbon service system design strategy is put forward.Taking the China Academy of Art as the practice site, combined with the design strategy, the design practice is carried out according to the characteristics of the China Academy of Art.This paper conducts literature research on low-carbon behavior,low-carbon related theories, and campus low-carbon service systems. The study also combines Octalysis analysis of theoretical game thinking to study the driving force of users’ low-carbon behavior will, build a theoretical model of the core driving force of the campus low-carbon service system through the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. And then use the China Academy of Art as a sample to carry out low-carbon campus service system practice,Create a digital,human-oriented and personalized campus low-carbon service system solution that integrates arts and sciences. This research is also an effective attempt of game design thinking in understanding the motivation of environmental behavior, and provides a new idea for realizing the sustainable development of campus ecosystem.
