The rapid development of urbanization has led to the decline of habitat quality and fragmentation of the pattern.High-intensity human activities are the direct cause of the sharp decline in biodiversity,among which endangered species are even more strongly affected.As one of the potential habitats of organisms,urban wilderness protection is a prerequisite and guarantee for the protection of ecological environment and biodiversity.After the rise of wilderness protection movements in Europe and the United States,"wilderness" has gradually become a synonym for wildness and nature and accepted by the world.Even international cooperation organizations have been established to call on all countries to join in the action of wilderness protection.In China,since the proposal of the construction of ecological civilization,the domestic research on wilderness protection has increased in quantity,but most of the research still stays in the category of philosophy and culture.The theoretical research and practical technology research on wilderness protection in the category of ecological environment protection are still in the embryonic stage of exploration.At present,there are still a large number of vacancies in the research on the correlation between wilderness and urban biodiversity in China.In this context,this study will be based on the concept of "wilderness +," take Wuhan city as the research scope and endangered birds as the research object,construct a new wilderness identification index system,carry out urban wilderness quality assessment and wilderness patch identification,and further explore the relationship between urban wilderness and the abundance of endangered birds from the perspective of "quality" and "quantity." This paper uses correlation analysis and regression analysis methods to reveal the changing trend of the abundance of endangered birds under the background of urban wilderness changes,providing theoretical support and reference for future urban biodiversity protection planning and urban wilderness restoration.The main research results of this paper are:(1)Wilderness is an important habitat for birds.In order to identify wilderness more accurately to improve bird habitat research,distinguish it from the large-scale wilderness identification index system,and highlight the characteristic attributes of the wilderness area,soil bulk density,NDVI,population density,road density,settlement point density,land use,night lighting,distance from settlement points and roads,and patch fragmentation are selected as evaluation indicators,and a city-scale wilderness identification index system with higher applicability and accuracy is constructed,which makes up for the classic wilderness identification methods(Boolean operation method and Boolean-WLC evaluation method).The deficiencies in.(2)Based on the new index system,the wilderness area of Wuhan City was identified and evaluated,and Fragstats were used to analyze the spatial pattern of wilderness in Wuhan City.The results show that the middle and high-quality wilderness areas in Wuhan City are concentrated in the southern and northern waters and mountain forest areas,with an area of about 1444.47 km 2,accounting for 16.858% of the urban area of Wuhan City.Low-quality wilderness is mostly scattered in the transition zone between cities and towns and natural covered areas.The wilderness area is mainly composed of lakes,canals,sparse forest land,and woodland.(3)The correlation analysis and regression analysis were carried out using SPSS and MATLAB to explore the influence of wilderness quality and wilderness pattern on the abundance of endangered birds.The results show that there is a strong positive correlation between wilderness quality and the abundance of endangered birds and it is a nonlinearity relationship.When the Wuhan wilderness quality evaluation result is quantified as a value in the range of 0.00-0.40(the higher the value,the higher the wilderness quality),the threshold zone for the increase of the abundance of endangered birds is 0.30-0.35,and the growth rate of the abundance of endangered birds fluctuates during the improvement of wilderness quality.The results show that areas with high abundance of endangered birds often appear in areas with medium wilderness quality,confirming the layered effect of urban biodiversity.In terms of wilderness pattern,AI has the strongest correlation with the abundance of endangered birds at the LANDSCAPE level,and it is positively correlated(0.384 * *),FRAC_mn has a relatively weak correlation with the abundance of endangered birds.At the CLASS level,the spatial pattern of high-quality wilderness has the greatest impact on the abundance of endangered birds.ENN_mn has the least impact on the abundance of endangered birds in various wilderness pattern indexes.(4)Comprehensive research and analysis results The strategies for wilderness protection and restoration at the urban scale under the background of biodiversity protection generally include the following points: a)The ways for wilderness protection and restoration include establishing relevant laws and regulations,and formulating relevant guidance documents in accordance with the existing nature reserve system framework;Construct a scientific wilderness protection zoning framework,unify the evaluation standards and principles of wilderness protection;Implement long-term dynamic control to achieve sustainable development of wilderness protection.b)Organize and explain the connection between wilderness protection and restoration work and urban planning and design at all levels,and effectively promote wilderness protection work through zoning and grading.c)Carding out the protection and restoration methods of wilderness protection areas of different levels and areas.
