In the context of ecological civilization construction,respecting nature,conforming to nature and protecting nature have become the consensus of development.With the increasingly severe global ecological and environmental crisis,wilderness has gradually become an important part of the work to deal with climate change and protect biodiversity due to its important ecological value.At present,the concept of wilderness protection is being widely spread around the world and has gradually become an important driving force for promoting international cooperation in ecological and environmental protection.In view of the importance of this topic,the paper takes Gansu Province as the research area.First,using data such as land use,night light images,population density,etc.,the paper establishes a spatial recognition model of wilderness in Gansu Province from four aspects: biophysical naturalness,human interference,distance remoteness,and appearance integrity,and determines the index weight distribution scheme through the expert scoring method(AHP).Secondly,GIS kernel density estimation(KDE),Euclidean distance and Boolean superposition(MCL)are used to calculate the indicators,and the WQI map of Gansu Province is obtained by normalization and weighted linear combination.Finally,according to the research,the distribution pattern of quantity and quality of wilderness in Gansu Province and the existing problems in protection are obtained,and the countermeasures and suggestions for wilderness protection are put forward.The main research conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The survey of wilderness perception characteristics shows that the formation of wilderness experience mainly includes three aspects: naturalness(including natural state,such as area,biodiversity,terrain complexity),sociality(relationship between wilderness and human influence,accessibility),and perception(whether there are man-made facilities and intrusive facilities in the wilderness).(2)The survey results of wilderness weight show that biophysical naturalness is the primary factor to evaluate the wilderness quality,followed by distance and human interference,and appearance integrity is the index with the lowest weight value in the criteria.(3)On the aspect of wilderness resources,Gansu Province is rich in high-quality wilderness resources,accounting for more than half of the land area of Gansu Province.The area of high-quality wilderness accounts for 33.95% of the provincial area,and the area of high-quality wilderness accounts for 21.42% of the provincial area,accounting for55.37% in total.(4)The horizontal distribution of wilderness shows a spatial trend of "high in the west and low in the east".The distribution pattern of high-quality wilderness is "more in the west than in the east".The quality of wilderness in central Gansu increases from low to high in north-south direction along the axis of Hexi Corridor,while low-quality wilderness is dominant in the east.(5)In the vertical distribution of wilderness,the altitude of high-quality wilderness is higher than that of low-quality wilderness,and the distribution area is positively correlated with altitude.High quality wilderness is mainly distributed at 1776~2189m above sea level and2709~3296m above sea level,accounting for 56.93%.(6)In terms of distribution of wilderness cities and prefectures,high-quality wilderness is mainly distributed in Jiuquan City,Gannan Prefecture,Wuwei City and Zhangye City,of which Jiuquan City accounts for an absolute proportion.(7)The wilderness protection pattern shows that the nature reserve has covered nearly 30% of high-quality wilderness,70% of which are still outside the nature reserve,and the nature reserve has not effectively protected high-quality wilderness in Gansu Province.This paper conducts research on wilderness identification and protection at provincial scale,explores the wilderness identification model and weight scheme combining expert cognition and opinions,and enriches the existing research scale,methods and protection strategies.The research method has reference significance for improving wilderness identification and evaluation model,enriching index content and weight distribution scheme,and the research results have reference value for integrating wilderness protection content and improving natural reserve system. |
