Small diameter pipes are widely used in power station steam turbines,reheaters,economizers and other components,and the number is huge.At present,the four commonly used small-diameter pipe detection methods have their limitations.Penetration testing and magnetic particle testing can only detect surface and near-surface defects.Radiographic testing has a large impact on the environment,with a long testing cycle and low testing efficiency.The testing equipment is not conducive to limited space testing.Conventional ultrasonic testing has many clutter,large curvature,difficult quantification,and no data recording function.It depends on the subjectivity and sense of responsibility of the testing personnel.Therefore,a method with higher sensitivity and faster detection speed is needed to detect small diameter pipes.Ultrasonic phased array technology can realize the deflection and focusing of the sound beam without moving the probe or without moving the probe,and has good imaging capabilities,which is convenient for inspectors to observe and detect.Therefore,we explore the phased array in the small diameter tube.application.In this paper,an ultrasonic phased array detection platform for small diameter pipes is built to realize rapid detection of small diameter pipes in power plants.First,the ultrasonic sound ray and sound field calculation method is used to simulate the detection of the phased array of the small diameter tube.Furthermore,the echo prediction is combined with the defect scattering model,and the above method is used to calculate the distance amplitude curve of the phased array system.On the basis of theoretical method research,a small-diameter tube phased array detection platform was built,and a special detection software was developed to realize small-diameter tube workpiece simulation,ultrasonic testing,data collection and data.Comparing the actual inspection results of conventional ultrasound and phased array equipment on small diameter pipes,the phased array system uses primary and secondary echo imaging,and can fully cover the weld without moving or moving the probe.The testing results are presented in graphical form.,With the geometric profile of the groove,the defect location can be judged intuitively,and the detection accuracy and efficiency have been greatly improved.At the same time,the phased array inspection can be imaged in a variety of ways,which can facilitate the inspectors to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of defects more intuitively and accurately,and improve the sensitivity compared with conventional ultrasonic equipment.
