Research On The Application Of Lijiang Dongba Character Modeling Language On Tea Tables And Chairs

The ethnic culture of the Naxi ethnic group in China,Dongba culture,is known as the "World Memory Heritage",among which Dongba script is one of the important contents of Dongba culture and is also known as the "living fossil" of script.The initial function of Dongba script was to write Dongba scriptures by the wise,and its usage was generally for religious activities.But with the rise of Lijiang’s tourism industry,the integration of different cultures has led to the gradual dilution of Dongba culture.Due to the fact that Dongba script has never escaped religious scenes and has not been updated subsequently,it cannot serve as a medium for cultural dissemination in modern civilization,which puts Dongba script on the brink of extinction.In this research context,this article takes Dongba script as a cultural symbol,deconstructs,translates,and reconstructs its textual form,and combines it with furniture design.Through a new path of integrating Dongba script and design innovation,Dongba culture is introduced into modern life in another way,achieving the inheritance and development of Dongba culture in the new era.This topic first analyzes the development history and current situation of Naxi furniture:tea tables and chairs belong to furniture product design,and Naxi originally belonged to nomad and did not have exclusive tea tables and chairs for tea drinking activities.For this reason,the author conducts in-depth research on the characteristics and development history of Naxi’s traditional furniture through literature research,ethnography research,field trips and other ways,and analyzes the needs of local residents for tea tables and chairs.At the same time,through the analysis of Naxi tea culture,the audience group and user orientation of the design practice of this topic are further determined.The second part of the project is the analysis of Dongba characters.The author first summarizes and organizes Dongba characters,and then analyzes and summarizes their characteristics in four aspects: lines,shapes,patterns,and colors.The results indicate that Dongba characters not only have concise and dynamic shapes,smooth lines,but also rich "Five Elements" colors,laying a solid foundation for the design of tea tables and chairs.After researching the design background,the author also investigated the application of ergonomics in tea tables and chairs.By summarizing and summarizing data on the dimensions of tea tables and chairs,such as seat height,seat width,seat depth,backrest width and depth,the tea table and chair data that conforms to human body dimensions will be applied in this project.Finally,relying on continuous exploration and research in the early stage,we will innovate and apply tea tables and chairs using Dongba characters as a carrier.In this process,the author first selected the Dongba characters "wind" and "moon" with great dynamic and linear beauty for the design of the chair.The character "drink" was used as the prototype of the tea table design,and then the text was deconstructed,translated,and reconstructed.The two-dimensional text was converted into a three-dimensional shape,and the overall shape was combined with the size of the tea table and chair.Secondly,the author selected typical elements of Dongba culture for pattern extraction and applied them to the design of tea tables and chairs,and selected suitable materials for the production and production of tea tables and chairs.At the end of the article,the author also used Dongba script as a carrier to design derivative products for tea tables and chairs,including cushions,Dongba script decorations,and coasters.
