The Application Of Naxi Dongba Paper In The Design Of Household Products

With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization,the survival of traditional handicrafts in ethnic minority areas in China is facing serious challenges.As a traditional handicraft unique to Naxi people,the inheritance and development of Dongba paper are also facing huge threats.Dongba paper has a yellowish color and thick paper.It can be stored for a long time without corruption,and it also has the reputation of "paper longevity".Dongba paper is a special paper used by the ancient Naxi people to record Dongba culture.It carries the history and culture of the Naxi people.Its heritage and development,on the one hand,need to retain the traditionality of its craftsmanship,on the other hand,it needs to combine the development characteristics of the times in its derivative designs,add new design elements to expand its presentation.Dongba paper and its paper-making process reflect not only a material civilization,but also a unique symbol of spiritual civilization.Applying it to the design of modern home products can not only achieve the purpose of propagating minority handicraft culture,but also to Dongba Paper handmade papermaking technology and Naxi culture also play a certain role in inheriting and promoting.Based on the field investigation of the ancient city of Lijiang,this paper sorts out the production process,process characteristics and development status of Dongba Paper,and focuses on understanding the process characteristics of the coexistence of paper-making method and paper-making method.In addition,the Dongba Paper Workshop in the ancient city of Lijiang was investigated.The survey objects included all Dongba paper derivatives in its store,and analyzed and summarized them in terms of style design and process performance according to the two categories of stationery and household products.At the same time,a large number of domestic and foreign handmade paper design products were collected,and their advantages and disadvantages were analyzed and summarized.Based on the Yunnan Provincial Museum project,the dissertation begins with the development of Dongba Paper,production techniques,aesthetic characteristics,and traditional craft culture.According to the needs of the target group and its products,combined with the aesthetic characteristics and material characteristics of Dongba Paper,three sets of Dongba Paper home product designs were completed.Including lighting,storage and accessories three categories of household items.The design of the lamp is mainly toincrease the interaction in the product so that consumers can feel the irreplaceability and vitality of handmade paper.The design of the storage is inspired by the durability of the Dongba paper and the wrapping of the paper.The design of the jewelry is mainly To highlight the texture characteristics of Dongba paper.Finally,I hope that through my own design,I can better interpret and express the charm of Dongba Paper.
