Research On The Application Of Pleats In Lolita Clothing Design

Lolita culture,a product of the combination of Japanese street culture and Western traditional culture in the context of the times,was formed in Japan in the 70 s of the last century,and soon developed and spread in Japan,and was introduced to China around the21 st century.So far,it has become a more popular style of dressing among girls.Lolita clothing is currently divided into three major styles by the public: sweet Lolita,classical Lolita,and Gothic Lolita,and some small styles such as Chinese style Lolita and Japanese style Lolita.Regardless of the Lolita style,the folds are one of the important expressive elements.Pleats are inextricably linked with Western clothing culture,and are also used in ancient Chinese clothing,and are one of the classic elements in modern clothing design.The importance of folds is self-evident.Therefore,this paper aims to focus on the previous research on folds,shift the focus to Lolita clothing,and better apply folds to the design of Lolita clothing.The article is divided into seven chapters,first an overview of the fold,an introduction to its development in the West and China,and a detailed classification of the fold for easy understanding.Then a detailed overview of Lolita clothing is given,the origin,origin and development of its name are known,the common styles of Lolita clothing are introduced,and the basic styles of Lolita clothing are introduced in legends.Then,the common folds in Lolita clothing were analyzed and legends were drawn to fully show the different characteristics of different folds,and the common fabrics in Lolita clothing were selected to analyze the pleats and smooth pleats respectively.The design of the folds in different parts of Lolita’s clothing was carefully analyzed.Based on the above analysis,the design elements and design methods of folds in Lolita clothing are sorted out and summarized.After that,through the knowledge of the previous chapter,the folds were combined with the style and style of Lolita’s clothing,and a set of design schemes was made using the design methods described above,and one of them was selected to make a finished product and the advantages and disadvantages were analyzed.Finally,the graduation project was drawn and produced.The study believes that the design of folds on Lolita clothing can be considered from the decorative and functional,partial and whole.Secondly,pleats can use the design methods of additive design,replacement design and bionic design in Lolita clothing.Finally,the pleats can be combined with the style of Lolita’s clothing.This article delves into the design and use of folds in Lolita’s clothing,hoping that folds will be better developed while consolidating their original role.At the same time,this article also hopes to provide some reference significance for the design of Lolita clothing..
