A Design Study Of Indigo Dyeing In "Memphis" Deconstructive Clothing

Blue dyeing as a traditional dyeing process has a long history,as early as the Neolithic people have found bluegrass,according to the different dyeing process and the length of time,its finished purity is also different,the color is simple,rich in layers.In addition,its green and environmentally friendly process is also very in line with the current market demand.Although it was once in a downturn under the influence of chemical dyes and the Western industrial revolution,with the emergence of emerging words such as "intangible cultural heritage",traditional indigo dyeing techniques have returned to the public’s vision and are active in domestic and foreign clothing design in a new form,which not only enhances the diversity of designs,has a positive effect on environmental protection and sustainable development,but also has great significance for "activation" inheritance and protection of our country’s traditional dyeing skills.This project focuses on the stylistic characteristics of traditional indigo dyeing art and "Memphis" deconstructionist clothing design,and uses literature collection,data analysis,comparative research,case analysis and design practice to explore how to integrate the cultural value of traditional handicraft with the aesthetic value of Western "Memphis" deconstructionism,and "activate" inherit intangible cultural heritage culture with clothing as the carrier.The article is mainly divided into four parts: the first part traces the development process of traditional indigo dyeing from domestic and foreign aspects,analyzes the color characteristics and process types of indigo dyeing,summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and development prospects of traditional indigo dyeing process,and provides basic theoretical support for subsequent indigo dyeing practice;The second part summarizes the background and design characteristics of Memphis style and deconstruction,analyzes the application of these two design features in clothing,and summarizes the most common three forms of color use,variable geometric pattern layout and diversified internal and external modeling structure.The third part analyzes the application of indigo dyeing in Memphis deconstructive clothing design,summarizes the application characteristics of indigo dyeing in modern clothing from three aspects: color application,process details and style modeling,and provides direction for subsequent design practice.The last part is a practical expression of the research on this topic,and the two series of designs "Children’s Fun Students" and "Dyeing Fun" interpret this topic from different aspects such as craftsmanship details and expressions.Under the influence of minimalist style,modern clothing design tends to be homogenized.This paper analyzes indigo dyeing through combing,comparison,research and other methods,integrates Memphis deconstructive design techniques,relies on vertical tailoring,flat tailoring and other technological means,multi-dimensional and all-round exploration experiments,and finally completes a series of clothing design,providing more possibilities for innovative clothing design.
