| Binyang County is located in the central southern part of Guangxi and is famous for its handicraft industry.Binyang porcelain production has a long history and played an important role in the economic construction of Guangxi.At the same time,Binyang porcelain holds a relatively important position in the history of Guangxi ceramics.Binyang is one of the birthplaces of ancient Blue and white porcelain in Guangxi.Binyang’s traditional porcelain making technology once flowed into and influenced other regions of Guangxi.At present,Binyang still retains relatively primitive porcelain making techniques and equipment,which is of great significance for us to study the history of Guangxi porcelain making and ancient porcelain making techniques.This research mainly adopts the field research method and literature research method to study the origin and history of Binyang’s traditional porcelain industry through literature.Taking Wangming Village,Jingming Village,Shajiang Village,Lusi Village,Wanyao Village,Laoqin Village in Binyang as the main investigation points,this research investigates the development history,current situation,product types,porcelain making technology and relevant folk customs of Binyang’s traditional porcelain industry on the spot,and through the oral statements of craftsmen,demonstration operations and other methods recording Binyang’s traditional porcelain making process in detail,and finally discusses its inheritance and protection issues.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Based on comprehensive literature records,archaeological investigations,genealogy,and other materials,Binyang has a long history of traditional porcelain making,with its initial firing no later than the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.(2)The traditional porcelain making method in Binyang retains a relatively ancient one.From the perspective of production organization,the traditional family workshop production model has been retained,with a series of processes including preparation of mud,molding,decoration,and firing all completed within the family.From the perspective of craftsmanship,manual operation is the main method,especially the inheritance of ancient porcelain making techniques such as kilns and firing methods.From the perspective of raw materials,it adopts a relatively original formula without strict and precise scientific matching.From the perspective of the product itself,it has a simple design,simple decoration,and full-bodied country flavor.(3)The traditional porcelain making techniques in Binyang have important historical,cultural,and economic values,and are necessary for inheritance and protection. |
