Global warming and climate change have brought great impact on human living environment and socio-economic development.The emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide is one of the main causes of climate change.In this context,China has put forward the green development goal of "carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutralization in 2060".Carbon capture and storage technology is an emerging technology in the field of low-carbon innovation.It is one of the national key energy-saving and low-carbon technologies.It is not only an important technical means to achieve carbon neutralization,but also a key technology to deal with global climate change.China’s economy has experienced a high-speed development stage of high pollution and high energy consumption.It is seeking to transform to a high-quality development model.Energy conservation and emission reduction through low-carbon technological innovation is an important means to promote China’s green economic growth.This paper aims to study whether the key technology in the field of low-carbon technology innovation,namely carbon capture and storage technology,can promote the growth of China’s green economy efficiency.On the basis of literature review and theoretical analysis,this thesis designs three main research contents and obtains the corresponding research conclusions and suggestions.Firstly,from the perspective of patents,the innovation characteristics and key application links of carbon capture and storage technology are obtained based on the quantitative trend and international comparison of carbon capture and storage technology patents,the distribution of patents and the characteristics of high-quality patents.Secondly,the EBM model is used to measure China’s provincial green economic efficiency in the years of 2011 to 2017,and the measurement results of green economic efficiency are analyzed from three aspects: time characteristics,spatial characteristics and convergence characteristics.Finally,the threshold effect is simulated by using the patent panel data and green economy efficiency measurement results,and the threshold value of carbon capture and storage technology affecting green economy efficiency is obtained.Through the above research,this thesis draws the these conclusions:First,China’s CCS technological innovation shows a positive development trend in terms of quantity,quality and growth rate.Second,high-quality CCS patents show the characteristics of agglomeration in capture and absorption.Third,the efficiency of China’s provincial green economy shows differences in temporal and spatial evolution and convergence.The efficiency of green economy in the East is higher,but the growth rate is low,and the efficiency of green economy in the central and western regions is lower,but the growth rate is greater in recent years.And the green economic efficiency of the eastern provinces is gradually developing towards a certain stable state,while the central,Western and northeast regions do not show this convergence trend.Fourth,there is a significant threshold effect on the impact of CCS technological innovation on the efficiency of green economy.When the technological innovation level is lower than the threshold,the positive effect of carbon capture and storage technological innovation on the progress of green economy efficiency is very limited.When the level of technological innovation crosses the threshold,the promotion effect is significantly improved.Considered the above conclusions,this thesis puts forward four suggestions:firstly,improve the CCS policy measures and operation system,and create an environment for technological innovation and commercial application.Secondly,build CCS industrial clusters and build large-scale,multi technology and whole process industrial chain demonstration projects.Thirdly,establish the cooperation and sharing mechanism of CCS infrastructure to promote the optimization and integration of basic resources.Lastly,formulate policy support measures according to local conditions according to the differences of CCS technology level in various regions.
