Research On The Impact Of Green Technology Innovation On Enterprise Performance

At present,Chinese economy has begun to shift from high-speed development to high-quality development,and the Fourteenth National Congress of the CPC that high-quality development cannot be achieved without green technology,supporting enterprises’ green technology innovation,implementing sustainable development strategies,and comprehensively promoting the green transformation of economic and social development.As a national economic sector in China,thermal power enterprises are characterised by high energy consumption,high emissions and high pollution,and it is of great significance for them to achieve high-quality development through green technology innovation.Based on the above macro background,this paper selects Huaneng International as the case object to explore the impact of its green technology innovation on corporate performance.Firstly,the concepts of green technology innovation and corporate performance are defined,the existing literature on green technology innovation at home and abroad is collated,and the relevant theories involved in this paper are outlined;secondly,the development of the thermal power industry is analysed,the profile of Huaneng International and the success of green technology innovation are introduced,and the motivation for its implementation of green technology innovation is explored,and then the paths through which green technology innovation affects corporate performance are analysed.The study also analyses the performance of Huaneng International’s green technology innovation in terms of environmental performance,financial performance and market performance;finally,it concludes the paper and draws relevant insights to provide reference and reference for other thermal power companies that intend to undertake green technology innovation.The study finds that Huaneng International’s green technology innovation is driven by a combination of internal and external factors,and that Huaneng International’s green technology innovation has improved its financial performance,brought positive capital market effects,and significantly improved its environmental performance through the application of green technology innovation results.Therefore,thermal power companies should improve their own resources and capabilities to support green technology innovation,and continue to promote green technology innovation to enhance their core competitiveness and achieve high-quality corporate development.This paper analyses the behaviour of Huaneng International’s green technology innovation from a micro perspective,constructs a "green technology innovation-performance" impact path,and then explores the specific impact of Huaneng International’s green technology innovation on performance,which enriches Chinese case studies on green technology innovation and,to a certain extent,serves as a reference for domestic heavy polluting It also has reference and implications for domestic heavy polluting enterprises in deciding whether to undertake green technology innovation.It is hoped that the research in this paper will help Huaneng International to better carry out green technology innovation,improve the efficiency of resource utilization through green technology innovation,maximize economic and environmental benefits,and promote the high-quality development of the enterprise.
