Integration Of Antecedent Variables Of Construction Worker Safety From Behavioral Perspective

The construction industry is a pillar industry of China ’s national economy.However,while the construction industry is booming,the frequency of safety accidents is extremely high,and it has been regarded as one of the high-risk industries.According to the theory of accident causation,the occurrence of safety accidents mainly comes from people ’ s unsafe behavior.The construction workers have a low level of education and weak safety awareness,which is easy to produce unsafe behavior.Scholars have done a lot of research on the safety behavior of construction workers,hoping to take corresponding measures to promote the safety behavior of construction workers by analyzing the antecedent variables of safety behavior.However,with the increasing number of studies,the relationship between the same pair of variables has diverged in dif ferent studies.At present,there are few studies on the formation mechanism of construction workers’ safety behavior based on the system perspective,and it is difficult to take targeted measures to promote the safety behavior of construction workers.Therefore,based on the three levels of individual,organizational management and environment,this paper systematically studies the antecedent variables of construction workers’ safety behavior and analyzes their influencing mechanism.By reviewing the literature,this paper constructs an integrated model of the antecedent variables of construction workers’ safety behavior.And based on the accident causation theory,herd motivation theory and planned behavior theory,the antecedent variables of construction workers ’ safety behavior are screened,and the key antecedent variables used to analyze the formation process of construction workers’ safety behavior are determined.According to this,a theoretical model of the influence mechanism of construction workers’ safety behavior is constructed.Based on 147 independent samples from 88 empirical studies at home and abroad,Meta-SEM analysis method is used to verify the hypothesis.This paper mainly uses CMA3.0,Mplus8.3,R studio software for analysis.The analy sis includes the calculation of the correlation coefficient between the antecedent variables and the safety behavior,the moderating effect of the enterprise scale and the cultural background,the calculation of the path coefficient in the influence mechan ism model,and the mediating effect test based on the Monte Carlo method.The results show that:(1)At the individual level,the correlation coefficients of safety awareness,safety motivation,safety attitude,safety ability and work pressure on the safe ty behavior of construction workers are 0.663,0.621,0.614 and 0.539,respectively,which are all positive and highly correlated.The correlation coefficient between work pressure and safety behavior of construction workers is-0.404,which is a negative moderate correlation.At the organizational management level,the correlation coefficients of safety climate,safety education and training,and safety leadership on the safety behavior of construction workers are 0.678,0.543,and 0.665,respectively,all of which were positively correlated.At the environmental level,the correlation coefficient between the safety environment and the safety behavior of construction workers is 0.472,which is a positive moderate correlation.(2)Enterprise scale has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between safety awareness,safety motivation,safety ability,work pressure,safety climate,safety education and training,safety leadership and construction workers’ safety behavior.The cultural background plays a significant moderating role in the influence of safety motivation,work pressure and safety education and training on the safety behavior of construction workers.(3)Safety attitude,safety awareness and safety motivation are the mediating variables in the influence mechanism model of construction workers’ safety behavior,among which safety motivation is an extremely important mediating variable.
