| China is a big country that is proficient at using natural materials such as wood.In the process of Chinese civilization,the material has been used for thousands of years.We can excavate its cultural connotation and material characteristics from these classics,so as to promote the development of modern Chinese style design.While modern science and technology bring great convenience to mankind.It also compresses the living space of mankind in the future to a certain extent.Although polymer materials produced by advanced technology have brought great convenience to users,it also has a negative impact on the environment,and the emotional needs of users have not been paid due attention.Users are eager to find natural psychological comfort in the material environment and its products.In this context,it is of great significance to study and summarize Chinese traditional natural materials.Chinese cultural classics guide the development of Chinese civilization in the past and in the future.In China,the design and manufacture of wood have been guided by the idea of the unity of heaven and man since ancient times.One of the foundations of the discipline of design is cultural heritage.It needs to draw rich nourishment from the cultural spirit of its own nation to stand out from the design jungle of the 21 st century,so as to show its own style.This paper selects six classics from the 5000 year history of civilization from ancient to modern times,including philosophy,handicrafts,aesthetics and other works.These humanistic classics represent all aspects of Chinese cultural spirit.Chinese design is rooted in the soil of Chinese cultural spirit,so it cannot be separated from the guidance of Chinese philosophy.Mr.Feng Youlan’s new Neo Confucianism system carries on the essence of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism for 2000 years,making modern Chinese design have Chinese philosophy to follow.Mr.Li Zehou’s works summarize the aesthetics of Chinese civilization and rich philosophical thinking that can bring great inspiration to design.Mr.Xu zhuoyun,a historian,has reflected on the daily lives of scholar bureaucrats and farmers.We can see the warmth of history and life.Ordinary wood plays a great role in day-to-day life.Taking history as a mirror,we can design it correctly.Kampongs and Tiangong Kaiwu,which represent the peak of ancient handicraft and technology,record the subtlety of Chinese woodworking skills and materials.The wood quality recorded in Gegu Yaolun is the focus of this paper.The third chapter records the wood according to its source,purpose and cultural significance,and compares and analyzes the wood grain,in order to better reflect the cultural significance of each wood material in the products.This paper collects the records of wood materials in other ancient documents,so as to make the literature basis of traditional wood materials more complete.In the last chapter of this paper,the natural wood grain is reorganized through modern design methods.The ways of reorganization include symmetry,coupling,scattering,etc.The application of natural wood grain and reconstituted wood grain in modern high-end industrial products,such as cars,yachts,cameras,etc.,can better reflect the idea of making the past serve the present.Natural materials and modern design not only meet the individual needs and emotions of users,but also conform to the concept of sustainable development,which is of great significance to solve the contradiction between man and nature.Based on the philosophy,handicraft and life aesthetics in Chinese traditional humanistic classics,this paper explores the humanistic and natural characteristics of natural materials and their possibilities in modern design,so as to provide useful references for today’s Chinese design.The final design is presented in the form of books,and the whole is decorated with butterfly costumes.All the research results of this paper are included,so that design practitioners and traditional culture lovers have more comprehensive materials to refer to. |
