Abstract/Summary:
The recycling and utilization of agricultural productive waste is a scientific treatment method for its disposal, which can make the maximum reuse of agricultural productive waste resources,so as to improve the living environment in rural areas, which is a necessary move for the construction of "beautiful China" and "beautiful countryside",and also an inevitable requirement for the promotion and realization of the "five-in-one" overall plan.In September 2018,the National Strategic Plan for Rural Revitalization(2018-2022)pointed out that: to promote the optimization of agricultural industrial structure, develop circular agriculture combining planting and breeding, promote the local transformation of agricultural waste resources, improve the innovation of agricultural science and technology, and provide support for agricultural pollution prevention and control, environmental protection and agricultural waste recycling. The No.1 document of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on February 21,2023 pointed out that the protection of agricultural resources and environmental governance should be strengthened, the reduction of chemical fertilizers should be implemented, and the recycling and utilization of agricultural wastes should be carried out.Shiyan City of Hubei province is located in the combination of central and western regions,a transitional zone between the north and the south,a total of 3.34 million acres of cultivated land resources, mountains and rivers,a complex climate, for the study of rural farmers for agricultural productive waste recycling and utilization has a certain representative. Therefore, this paper takes farmers’ choice of disposal of agricultural productive waste as the main line.On the basis of sorting out relevant domestic and foreign literature,it conducts field research and visits to have one-on-one conversations with farmers through questionnaire survey and interview method.Based on the rural field situation and survey data, this paper expounds the current situation of agricultural productive waste disposal in the rural areas of Shiyan City, the existing problems and the basic information of the survey objects. The factors that may affect the disposal behavior of farmers are sorted into five aspects, namely, the individual characteristics of farmers, the family characteristics of farmers, the production characteristics of farmers, the construction of rural infrastructure and the awareness of farmers’ policies.Based on the survey data, descriptive statistics were carried out on the sample data, multiple ordered logistic regression model was adopted, and the factors that may affect the disposal behavior were empiricately analyzed by stata17.0.The empirical results showed that:(1)A small number of farmers have adopted the recycling and disposal method of agricultural productive wastes, and farmers have weak awareness of independent recycling and utilization.Among them,196 households chose to discard directly, accounting for 59.8% of the sample.48 households chose partial recycling, accounting for 14.6% of the sample.Eighty-four households chose to recycle all, accounting for25.6% of the sample.(2)Disposal behavior is mainly affected by seven factors: education level, whether to join farmers’ cooperatives, the proportion of agricultural income to total household income, whether the village has agricultural productive waste recycling facilities, whether there are subsidies after recycling, farmers’ evaluation of water quality and soil evaluation.Among them, education level, whether there are productive agricultural waste recycling facilities, farmers’ evaluation of water quality are positively correlated with disposal behavior, and whether to join farmers’ cooperatives, the proportion of agricultural income to total household income, recycling subsidies, farmers’ evaluation of soil are negatively correlated with disposal behavior.
