Since the reform and opening up,China’s serious environmental pollution problems are gradually affecting the external dividend formed by rapid economic development. In order to reduce the impact of the ecological crisis on the economy and society, provinces advocate the development of a green economy, promote a comprehensive green transformation and promote the coordinated development of the economic society and the ecosystem. However, due to the vast size of China, natural conditions, historical foundations and other factors, the level of economic development varies greatly from region to region, and thus the state of green transformation can vary significantly between provinces. For this reason,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to measure the state of inter-provincial green transformation in China in a scientific and comprehensive manner,to explore the influencing factors of green transformation in depth, and to actively seek strategies to accelerate the overall green transformation,in order to promote the comprehensive realisation of inter-provincial green transformation development in China. The first aim of this paper is to collate and study the theoretical and empirical literature related to green transformation,to understand the current situation of domestic and international research,to determine the focus of research,to define relevant concepts and theoretical foundations such as green,to provide theoretical support for the empirical analysis later on,and to analyse the changes in China’s industrial structure and describe the current situation of energy and ecological environment. Then,in order to comprehensively and scientifically measure the status of inter-provincial green transformation in China,we also measure and evaluate the inter-provincial green transformation in China in terms of both level and efficiency.Based on the DPSIR model,an evaluation index system for the level of green transformation is established from five aspects: dynamics, pressure, state, impact and response.Based on the non-expected output SBM model, the efficiency of China’s interprovincial green transition was measured from the input-output perspective and its spatial correlation was analyzed. Finally,a panel regression model and a threshold model are used to empirically test and analyse the influencing factors and threshold effects of the green transition, and finally conclude the findings and put forward relevant feasible suggestions. The results of the study show that China is entering into the "3-2-1" industrial structure model, and the overall pollutant emissions and ecological environment still need to be improved. In general, the level and efficiency of inter-provincial green transformation are on the rise, and there are significant differences between regions, with an unbalanced overall distribution;the highest level of the five level indicators of green transformation is "pressure",followed by "motivation" and "status",with a higher level. The highest level of the five level indicators of green transition is "pressure",followed by "motivation" and "status",and the lower levels are "response" and "impact";the efficiency of green transition between provinces shows a clear "club phenomenon" There is a strong positive spatial correlation. In terms of influencing factors, technological maturity, total import and export trade, government fiscal expenditure, pollution control investment amount and environmental protection investment have a more significant effect on the level of green transformation;technological maturity, total import and export trade, government fiscal expenditure, pollution control investment amount and urbanization level all have a more significant effect on the efficiency of green transformation;international environmental factors have a The threshold effect of international environmental factors on the level and efficiency of green transformation.
