In recent years,as the fourth industrial revolution moves deeper into development,a new generation of information technology such as big data,artificial intelligence and blockchain has been flourishing and deeply applied,human social development has entered the digital era,network manufacturing,flexible manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing have gradually become the trend of industrial innovation,and the issue of digital transformation of enterprises has also received a lot of attention.Even though most enterprises are aware of the importance of digital transformation to enterprise efficiency and competitiveness,they tend to pay attention to the digital technology itself,ignoring the obstacles brought about by organisational changes in the transformation process,making it difficult to transform rapidly and successfully.This thesis therefore uses case studies to explore organisational change in the process of digital transformation in enterprises,and seeks effective practices to address the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation.The text of the case is an objective account of the digital transformation of the J Cigarette Factory,which started out as a small artisanal cigarette factory and was preserved under the care of leaders at all levels and the company’s own continuous efforts to develop itself as a traditional manufacturing cigarette factory.Later,due to bottlenecks in production hardware and information software,the company carried out its digital transformation process in line with the development of the times and reinvented a modern cigarette factory through technological transformation in an easy-to-use location.In the process of starting production operations in the new factory,layers of obstacles were encountered and new digitalisation projects were built on a pilot basis during the period,resulting in a slow advancement of the transformation.by continuously overcoming obstacles,Cigarette Factory J successfully promoted the application of digitalisation technology on the ground,getting rid of the old production management mode of the original traditional cigarette factory and effectively improving the management efficiency and core competitiveness of the enterprise.The case study focuses on the characteristics of the digital transformation of Cigarette Factory J,the factors influencing the transformation,the resistance encountered in the transformation process,the measures taken to overcome the resistance,the change model adopted and its effectiveness,as well as the direction of future efforts and inspiration.Both the radical change model adopted in the early stages of the transformation and the incremental change model adopted during the transformation process have been successful,but what has contributed to the success of Cigarette Factory J is the internal capacity of the organisation.The digital transformation has only a beginning and no end,and Cigarette Factory J still has a long way to go on its digital transformation journey.Based on the analysis of the characteristics,resistance and measures in the organizational change of digital transformation of Cigarette Factory J,this thesis provides suggestions and countermeasures on how to sustain the digital transformation of the enterprise in the future,from how to build the enterprise digital strategic planning,strengthen the organization digital capability and shape the digital enterprise culture,providing an effective path for the digital transformation of the enterprise.
