In recent years,global warming has received great attention from the international community,and China,as the second largest economy in the world,has the important task of energy saving and emission reduction.With the strategy of civil aviation as a strong country,China’s civil aviation transportation industry has been developing rapidly,and the economic development has also brought about environmental problems.Under the background of low carbon economy,it is important to reduce carbon emissions and resource consumption through effective measures to improve carbon emission efficiency and energy utilization efficiency.As the main body of the industry,airlines are responsible for the main task of energy saving and emission reduction,and improving the carbon emission efficiency of airlines is an inevitable choice to realize the green development of civil aviation.Based on the existing research,this thesis measures and analyzes the carbon emission efficiency of airlines based on the current situation of airlines,and conducts regression analysis on the influencing factors of their carbon emission efficiency to explore the influencing factors of carbon emission efficiency,so as to provide scientific and reasonable measures and suggestions for airlines’ energy saving and emission reduction work.This thesis takes 19 airlines as the research objects,constructs an index system for evaluating carbon emission efficiency based on the actual production data of airlines,based on which,static analysis and dynamic analysis of the carbon emission efficiency of these 19 airlines from 2011-2019 are conducted using the super-efficient SBM model and ML production index,and Tobit regression model is used to The Tobit regression model was used to conduct an in-depth analysis and research on the influencing factors of airlines’ carbon emission efficiency.The results show that(1)the static carbon emission efficiency results show that the overall carbon emission efficiency of China’s airlines is in the middle to upper level,showing a trend of fluctuating growth,and the efficiency improvement is mainly due to technical efficiency;the carbon emission efficiency varies significantly among airlines,and the carbon emission efficiency of the vast majority of airlines needs to be enhanced and improved;the mean value of carbon emission efficiency of various airlines varies significantly,showing that state-owned< The difference between the mean carbon emission efficiency of various airlines is significant,showing a pattern of state-owned < private,large mainstream < medium-sized local < small backbone,but this gap is gradually decreasing in recent years.(2)The dynamic carbon emission efficiency shows that the overall carbon emission total factor productivity index of airlines is regressive,but has great potential for development,showing a trend of decreasing and then increasing,mainly constrained by the technological progress.(3)Through the study of the influencing factors: ton kilometer fuel consumption has a significant negative effect on the improvement of airline carbon efficiency;market share has no significant effect on the improvement of airline carbon efficiency level;energy saving technology level,route structure and load factor have a significant positive effect on the improvement of airline carbon efficiency.Finally,based on the results of the study,measures and suggestions are proposed to improve the carbon emission efficiency of airlines in terms of technological innovation and management operation.
