From the "GDP-Only Theory" to the "Two Mountains Theory",from the pursuit of "quantity" to the emphasis on "quality",the Party’s The Party’s twentieth anniversary once again placed the construction of ecological civilization in a prominent position in its governing work, and achieving the goal of double carbon has also become one of the important tasks in the construction of ecological civilization. As China’s ecological civilization construction started late, the manufacturing industry, which is the largest industry in China,is still facing the problem of difficult transformation, and it is difficult to complete the double carbon target as scheduled. With more and more benchmark enterprises in various industries successfully completing green transformation,it also inspires other enterprises to actively carry out green innovation activities, but the green innovation behaviour of enterprises in the same industry also differs, and there is still a lack of green innovation motivation,so the problems of stimulating enterprises to carry out green innovation and green transformation are still a hot spot for academic research. This thesis mainly uses theoretical analysis and comparative analysis to systematically review and summarise the literature on institutional pressure and green innovation, combining theories from institutional theory, stakeholder theory and natural resource base theory,to sort out and summarise the "formal/informal institutional pressure-driven-green innovation. This thesis choosed Shougang Co.and Hesteel Co.in China’s steel industry as the subjects of a double case study, and found that: the path of green innovation behaviour of enterprises under institutional pressure is different;the intensity of local government regulation, the level of media and public awareness and attention to green environmental protection, and the intensity of end-consumer green demand all contribute to the green innovation behaviour of enterprises. The strength of local government regulation, the level of media and public awareness and attention to green protection, and the intensity of end-consumers’ green demand all influence the choice of green innovation behaviour. This thesis broadens the research on institutional pressure, not only discusses how institutional pressure acts on enterprises’ green innovation behaviour, clarifies the formation paths of different green innovation behaviours under institutional pressure, but also compensates to a certain extent for the research on the economic consequences brought by different green innovation behaviours, which helps enterprises to correctly understand and carry out green innovation. |
