Research On Diversification Strategy Of Mining Investment Group S

With the continuous evolution of the Industrial Revolution,global resource consumption is increasing,but the total amount of resources is limited.Therefore,resource-based enterprises have faced or will face the severe problem of resource exhaustion.As an important part of Chinese enterprises,resource-based enterprises have made great contributions to Chinese economic development.Their healthy development is not only related to changing their own economic growth way,maintaining core competitiveness,but also related to the healthy development of Chinese national economy.Mining Investment Group S is a typical resource-based enterprise.Influenced by historical reasons,the company has taken the road of diversification strategy since its establishment.After adjusting its business,it has formed a diversified business integrating mining investment operation,equity investment,trade business and other businesses.However,in the process of diversification,the company has such some problems as weak main business,ineffective integration and utilization of internal and external resources,resulting in poor overall financial performance of the enterprise and poor industrial chain layout.In order to solve the above problems,this thesis,guided by the diversification strategy,resource-based theory(RBT)and core capability theory,studies the diversification strategy of Mining Investment Group S by referring to the relevant theoretical research results and practical experience of domestic and foreign scholars and combining with the typical characteristics of resource-based enterprises.To begin with,this thesis summarizes the domestic and foreign research on theories related to diversification strategy,enterprise resource-based theory and core capability theory,which provides theoretical support for the research of this thesis.In addition,it summarizes the diversified development process and diversified operation status of Mining Investment Group S,and analyzes the internal environment of the company by making use of resources and capabilities analysis method.The author has analyzed the external environment and competitive environment with PEST tool and the Six Forces model(an extension of the Five Forces model).Furthermore,the IFE and EFE matrix analysis models are used to summarize the internal strengths and weaknesses,external opportunities and threats of Mining Investment Group S to obtain "key information".The alternative strategy is obtained by SWOT matrix analysis model.QSPM matrix analysis model is used to make diversification strategy decision.In conclusion,on the basis of the above analysis,this thesis designs the optimization idea of diversification strategy of Mining Investment Group S in accordance with the evolution logic of diversification strategy,and proposes that the diversification strategy mode of Mining Investment Group S is to focus on the investment and operation of the mining industry to implement related diversification strategy,and the industry selection is to build mining investment and operation,mining investment and financing,mining supply chain,and mining comprehensive service.The author put forward optimization measures for each business.At the same time,from the aspects of resource guarantee,organizational guarantee,strategy implementation guarantee,strategic risk prevention and control,put forward the diversification strategy implementation guarantee measures.In the process of research,this thesis adopts the analytical research paradigm of "information input--strategic matching--strategic decision" as a whole.In the specific analysis,following the concept of modern enterprise competition and cooperation,the introduction of the sixth force--cooperation,analysis of the competition and cooperation between upper,middle and downstream enterprises,seeking the road to sustainable development of enterprises.The evolution logic of diversification strategy is adopted in strategy optimization.Therefore,the research ideas and the related diversification strategy optimization plan proposed in this thesis have reference value for Mining Investment Group S to improve its diversification development strategy and solve the problems in development.At the same time,it can also provide methodology and reference case for other scholars who study diversification strategy.
