Since the 21 st century,China’s economy has maintained a high-speed growth trend,and the investment in wind power and photovoltaic power generation industries has also maintained a relatively high level of investment scale and growth rate for a long time.Investment can effectively promote local economic development.Although investment in the traditional coal-fired power generation industry drives local economic development,the massive combustion of coal intensifies the emission of many types of pollutants,such as industrial waste such as sulfur dioxide,nitrogen oxides,particulate matter,and dust.The increase in its emissions is largely due to the burning of coal,and the accumulation of pollutants has led to the continuous aggravation of environmental pollution.The wind power and photovoltaic power generation industries use wind energy and solar energy to generate electricity.Compared with the coal-fired power generation industry,Can effectively reduce the emission of environmental pollutants.In this context,this paper studies whether the wind power and photovoltaic power generation industries can effectively promote the improvement of local environmental conditions,whether they are in line with the trend of green development in today’s era,and verify the rationality of China’s new energy transformation policy.The research in this paper shows that investment in wind power and photovoltaic power generation industries can effectively reduce the emission of environmental pollutants and improve the local environmental conditions.In this paper,the improved entropy weight method is used to establish the weight,construct the environmental pollution index,and use it as a proxy variable of environmental quality.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces and municipalities in China from 2011 to 2021,this paper analyzes and studies the impact of wind power and photovoltaic power industry investment on China’s environmental quality by establishing a relationship model between wind power and photovoltaic power generation industry investment and China’s environmental quality.This paper selects Inner Mongolia,Xinjiang,Qinghai,Ningxia,Gansu,and Shaanxi as sample representatives of the western region to analyze the degree of impact of investment in wind power and photovoltaic power generation industries in the western region on environmental pollution.Studies have shown that investment in wind power and photovoltaic power generation industries will reduce the emission of environmental pollutants.In the whole country and western regions,investment in wind power and photovoltaic power generation industries will improve the local environment.The research in this paper is conducive to firm belief in continuing to vigorously develop the new energy power generation industry,realizing energy structure transformation and high-quality economic development. |
