Due to the specificity of infectious diseases, patients experience varying degrees of psychological burden followed by suspicion, apprehension, fear and other psychological conditions. For patients recovering from infectious diseases,it is necessary to protect the privacy of medication for patients with infectious diseases,if it does not affect the lives of others and does not pose a risk of transmission. The main point of this paper is to protect the privacy of medication through the design of medication packaging,to help patients resolve their inner concerns and provide them with precise humanistic care. The current domestic drug packaging basically satisfies the function of conveying information and safety and stability, but there are certain shortcomings in meeting patients’ needs for medication, and the design of drug packaging neglects the feeling of use and psychological care for people with infectious diseases. This paper introduces the concept of humanization into drug packaging and discusses the design strategy and feasibility of drug packaging based on the needs of patients with infectious diseases.Firstly, this paper summarizes the main characteristics and usage status of pharmaceutical packaging from two aspects, namely packaging functional characteristics and packaging classification, further reflecting the concept of human-oriented human design.Secondly, the definition of the concept of infectious disease patients is briefly elaborated and based on the extensive survey of patients’ drug packaging needs,it is concluded that the privacy protection function of drug packaging is the most important factor affecting patients’ sense of medication experience, which provides reasonable data support for the research of this paper.Thirdly, through case studies,we explore how to effectively display drug-related information while considering patients’ privacy of medication and conclude that the design strategies of infectious disease drug packaging are appropriate for the structural form of rotatable caps and flip-top capsules,low-saturated colors, visual drug performance graphic symbols, and reasonable arrangement of drug information.Taking hepatitis B patients who need to take drugs for a long time during the recovery period as the main research object,we take the drugs that hepatitis B patients often take, such as entecavir and tenofovir,as the design carrier, and establish a virtual brand,Stealth Wear Pharmaceuticals Ltd,which specializes in protecting the privacy of patients’ medication. The aim is to optimize the design of pharmaceutical packaging to meet the needs of patients with infectious diseases and to improve the quality of life of patients with infectious diseases. Finally, this paper concludes with a humanized packaging design to protect the infectious disease patient population, providing a concept to alleviate the emotions of infectious disease patients through an improved approach to drug packaging. This design practice can hide sensitive information in the inner packaging of drugs without affecting the safe transportation of drugs and the correct use of drugs by patients. To highlight the importance of studying this topic,it is emphasized that the current design of pharmaceutical packaging in the domestic market is not yet adapted to the needs of patients with infectious diseases, and that the interrelationship between the physical treatment of patients by drugs and the psychological soothing of patients by humanized pharmaceutical packaging needs to be addressed.
