Peel grinding is a new cylindrical grinding process with good processability,which can be used to manufacture profiled shafts.However,the geometric characteristics of profiled shaft are complex,and the combination of rotary contour,non-circular contour and non-circular section contour guideline are flexible,whitch is incapable of completing processing efficiently according to user requirements.Aiming at these problems,the geometric structure feature modeling of profiled shaft parts and the grinding trajectory of profiled shaft rotary contour and non-circular contour are studied,whitch realized the modular design and manufacture of profiled shaft,non-circular shaft section profile and shaft section profile guide line of profiled shaft can be flexibly combined with the basic profile as the unit according to requirements.The specific research contents are as follows:(1)Research on geometric structure feature modeling of profiled shaft partsInitially,the geometric structure characteristics of profiled shaft parts are analyzed,the grinding wheel coordinate system and workpiece coordinate system are established.Additionally the end section coordinate system and shaft section coordinate system are defined based on the workpiece coordinate system,so as to describe the geometric characteristics of rotary contour and non-circular contour of profiled shaft,then the basic contour types are divided respectively.Altimately the unified expression of geometric structure characteristics of profiled shaft is realized.(2)Research on grinding algorithm of the shaft rotary profile structureThe selection of grinding wheel,grinding attitude of grinding wheel and parameters of grinding wheel in peel grinding process are analyzed and defined,then the translation vector under the grinding wheel coordinate system is solved,and the grinding track of conical,outer convex ring and inner concave ring contours are calculated,the track processing methods for different situations at the intersection of contours are classified,so as to realize the adaptive adjustment of grinding path of grinding wheel.(3)Research on grinding algorithm of the shaft non-circular profile structureThe grinding path of three basic contours of non-circular line,non-circular convex arc and non-circular concave arc and the intersection of contours are solved respectively based on the geometric analysis method.Then the coordinates of the grinding path under the condition that the lifting angle of the grinding wheel is not 90 ° are studied.The reference setting system and the guide line of the shaft section are introduced,and the approximation method is used to study the point scaling algorithm of the non-circular contour,finally the grinding path of variable cross-section non-circular contour profiled shaft grinding wheel is solved.(4)Simulation machining and actual machining verificationThe models of compound rotary profiled shaft,constant section non-circular profiled shaft,variable section non-circular profiled shaft and compound variable profiled shaft are established.Then the simulation and actual machining experiments are carried out.The parameters are measured with PG1000 measuring instrument,which verifies the effectiveness and flexibility of the grinding path algorithm of profiled shaft.
