With the rapid development of China’s digital economy,the development of industry will also face enormous opportunities and challenges.As an inland river economic belt with global influence in China,the Yangtze River Economic Belt gathers a number of modern industrial clusters with significant influence worldwide.In 2020,the industrial added value of the Yangtze River Economic Belt region will reach 14.78 trillion yuan,accounting for 47.23% of the country’s industrial added value and nearly half of China’s industrial capacity.Digital economy can effectively break the resource and environment bottleneck constraints of industrial development,better promote the digital transformation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt industry,form new economic growth points,and cultivate new drivers of economic growth.This paper takes the relationship between digital economy and industrial green development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the starting point.First,it combs the current situation of digital economy and industrial development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,constructs the indicator system of digital economy in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and measures it,and uses the super efficiency EBM model to measure the efficiency of industrial green development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Secondly,this paper discusses the mechanism of digital economy and green industrial development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Finally,this paper empirically studies the impact of digital economy development on industrial green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The main contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:1.Measure and analyze the development level of digital economy in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.First,analyze the current situation of digital economy development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and then build an evaluation system of urban digital economy development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from the four dimensions of digital infrastructure,digital industrialization development,social digital talents and inclusive finance,and calculate its digital economy development level by using the principal component analysis method.The analysis of the measurement results by using 3D nuclear density map and Thiel index and other analysis methods shows that the gap in the development level of the digital economy of the cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is large,but the difference is gradually decreasing.The contribution rate of the difference in the development level of the digital economy of the downstream cities is the largest,followed by the upstream areas,and the middle reaches are the smallest.2.Measure and analyze the industrial green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.First,analyze the current situation of industrial development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,build an industrial input-output indicator system based on the neoclassical growth theory,and use the global super efficiency EBM model to calculate the efficiency of urban industrial green development.Secondly,according to the measurement results,this paper combines the dynamic efficiency GML index and EC and TC decomposition items,and extends from static to dynamic analysis.The analysis results show that: the industrial green development efficiency of cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has shown an upward trend in 2011-2019,and the industrial green development in the downstream area of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is the highest,followed by the midstream area,and the upstream area is the worst;In most years of the research interval,technical progress(TC)and efficiency change(EC)have gone one way and the other,and the two have failed to complement each other and go hand in hand to drive the GML index to a higher level.3.Explore the mechanism of digital economy on industrial green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.This paper starts with the overall impact of digital economy on the efficiency of industrial green development,and describes in detail the three paths of technological innovation,cost optimization and human capital.Based on the establishment of Metcalfe’s law of increasing marginal effects,this paper analyzes the nonlinear impact of digital economy on the efficiency of industrial green development by taking the degree of industrial agglomeration and the level of financial development as the threshold factors.Considering the high growth and high permeability of digital economy,this paper further analyzes the spatial diffusion effect of digital economy on industrial green development efficiency.4.Empirical analysis of the impact of digital economy on the efficiency of industrial green development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.This paper uses urban panel data to conduct regression analysis using two-way fixed effect model,threshold regression model and spatial econometric model respectively.The empirical results show that digital economy has a positive impact on the industrial green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.This conclusion is still valid after robustness tests such as lag variables,replacement proxy variables and tool variable methods;The higher the degree of urban industrial agglomeration and the level of financial development,the greater the impact of digital economy on the efficiency of industrial green development;Digital economy can not only improve the local industrial green development efficiency,but also improve the industrial green development efficiency of neighboring areas through the diffusion effect.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the upstream region has the largest impact on the green development efficiency of urban industry,followed by the downstream region,and the midstream region has the smallest impact.Based on the above research,the innovation of this paper is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:1.The digital development level of cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is measured based on the four dimension indicator system.Due to the availability of data,most of our scholars’ research on digital economy is at the provincial level or at the enterprise level,and there is less literature on the measurement of digital economy at the prefecture level and city level.This paper focuses on the important strategic support zone of China’s economy-the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and constructs the evaluation system of urban digital economy development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from four dimensions: digital infrastructure,digital industrialization development,social digital talents,and inclusive finance level.It uses the principal component analysis method to measure it,which is a useful supplement to urban digital economy measurement.2.The level of industrial green development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is systematically evaluated with dynamic efficiency and its decomposition items.The existing literature rarely analyzes and evaluates the industrial green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in combination with static and dynamic efficiency.This paper uses the super efficiency EBM model to measure the industrial green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The advantage of this model is that it combines the radial efficiency with the non radial efficiency,making the measurement results more accurate.Based on the measurement results,combined with the dynamic efficiency GML index and EC and TC decomposition items,from static to dynamic analysis,from the perspective of static efficiency,the natural breakpoint diagram is used to describe the change process of urban industrial green development efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt;From the perspective of dynamic efficiency,it depicts the growth rate change of industrial green development efficiency.3.Based on threshold regression and spatial econometric model,this paper empirically studies the impact of digital economy on industrial green development efficiency.Considering the high growth of the digital economy and the establishment of Metcalfe’s law of increasing marginal effects,this paper believes that the green benefits brought by the digital economy to industrial development have the characteristics of nonlinear increase,but domestic literature rarely involves the research on the threshold effect of digital economy on industrial development.This paper empirically studies the nonlinear impact of digital economy on industrial green development efficiency from the two factors of industrial agglomeration and financial development.Based on the first theorem of geography,with the closer communication between cities,the impact of digital economy will inevitably have a diffusion effect.Therefore,this paper also uses a spatial econometric model to study the impact of digital economy on urban industrial green development efficiency from a spatial perspective.
