| With the continuous improvement of China’s urbanization level,the development of urban agglomeration has been accelerated,the connection between internal cities also breaks through the limitations of traditional geographical boundaries and presents network characteristics.However,the rapid development of urban agglomeration has also led to a large consumption of resources and environmental damage,especially industrial pollution.The 14 th Five-Year Plan proposed to establish a network-type urban group with multi-center,multi-level and multi-node."Network" characteristics of urban agglomerations will be deepened in the future.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the impact of urban agglomeration connection network on industrial pollution to create a green and sustainable urban agglomeration.The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,which is typical in terms of network connection and industrial pollution,is selected as the research object.The connection network of urban agglomerations from2005 to 2019 is measured by modified gravity model and the characteristics of connection network are studied by social network analysis method.The connection network is subdivided into outward connection level and inward connection level.Subsequently,panel data regression model is established to study the relationship between urban agglomeration connection network and industrial pollution.Then,the spatial heterogeneity and threshold effect of the research are studied.Finally,the mediating effect model is used to examine how the urban agglomeration networks affect industrial pollution.The main conclusions are as follows.(1)The connection network in the Yangtze River Delta is constantly close,while the industrial pollution shows a fluctuating downward trend.There are obvious differences in the connection network characteristics and industrial pollution level among cities.(2)Both the outward connection level and the inward connection level of the urban agglomeration can significantly reduce the industrial pollution,and the reduction effect of the inward connection level is stronger.As for large cities,the spillover of the capacity of reducing industrial emission and the agglomeration of resources are conducive to reducing pollution.After embedding into the network,small cities can reduce emissions by borrowing size.(3)The impact of industrial pollution emission reduction in central and non-central areas is spatial heterogeneous.The pollution emission reduction effect is stronger in non-central areas.The emission reduction capacity of the connection network of urban agglomeration shows the characteristics of marginal decline with the improvement of the two types of connection level of cities.(4)The impact of the connection network on industrial pollution is generated through industrial upgrading and technological progress.The connection network can promote the spread of industry,information and knowledge,so as to realize the progress of industrial structure and technology.Corresponding policy suggestions are proposed.(1)Grasp the development direction of urban system and improve the network characteristics of urban agglomeration.(2)Explore the industrial upgrading path of urban agglomeration and improve the level of industry coordinated level.(3)Open up the circulation channels of innovative elements of urban agglomeration and promote innovation cooperation.(4)Clarify the development stage of urban agglomeration connection network and flexibly change development strategies. |
