Based on China’s commitment to "achieve the peak of carbon dioxide emissions by2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060",from the formulation of the "carbon" target in 2020 to the release of the "1+N" top-level design in 2021,the attitude of "understanding,stabilizing the dual-carbon target and firmly reaching the target" put forward by the Central Economic Conference in December 2021 is becoming increasingly obvious.Carbon inclusive literacy is the ability of individuals to understand and recognize carbon emission reduction behavior and solve related problems in daily life.The level of carbon inclusion literacy can not only reflect the residents’ relevant understanding of carbon inclusion,but also contribute to economic and social operation and environmental protection.Its measurement index system provides operational technical guidance for the popularization of carbon inclusion.Measuring residents’ carbon inclusive literacy means building a scientific framework of evaluation indicators on the basis of accurately understanding and recording the content of carbon inclusive literacy.This is of great significance to popularize the relevant knowledge of carbon inclusion and stimulate residents’ willingness to participate in carbon inclusion.First of all,based on the connotation of carbon inclusive literacy,the logical paradigm of measurement,the content of measurement and the influencing factors,this paper constructs a carbon inclusive literacy measurement indicator system that includes three dimensions and 11 indicators.Then,according to the content of the 11 indicators,this paper constructs a questionnaire that includes three levels of carbon inclusive knowledge,carbon inclusive behavior,and carbon inclusive participation willingness,and takes residents in 31 provinces and cities in China as the respondents,According to the population proportion of each province in China,residents in each province were sampled,and 4998 valid questionnaires were finally obtained.The sample of each province covers the basic information indicators of rural residents and urban residents,residents of all ages,residents’ highest education background,current occupation and disposable monthly income.Secondly,this paper tests the effectiveness of the questionnaire,and conducts a statistical analysis on the carbon inclusive literacy level of Chinese residents through descriptive statistical analysis,and then quantifies the differences among residents in each dimension.This paper measures the level of residents’ carbon inclusive literacy through entropy method,and gives the average measurement results of residents’ carbon inclusive literacy in 31 provinces and cities;Through multiple linear regression model,this paper analyzes the influencing factors of the carbon inclusive literacy level of urban residents in31 provinces of China,and obtains the basic information factors that affect the carbon inclusive literacy level of residents.Finally,the paper summarizes the research results and puts forward policy recommendations to improve the carbon inclusive literacy level of residents.The empirical analysis mainly draws four conclusions.Firstly,the carbon inclusive literacy level of Chinese residents is 1.538.The region with the highest average level of carbon inclusive literacy is Beijing,whose average level of carbon inclusive literacy has reached 1.695.The region with the lowest average level of carbon inclusive literacy is Jilin Province,whose average level of carbon inclusive literacy is 1.429.Among them,13 provinces have higher carbon inclusion literacy than the national average,and 18 provinces have lower carbon inclusion literacy than the national average.Secondly,the average score of carbon inclusive literacy of urban residents is 1.588,and the average score of farmers’ carbon inclusive literacy is 1.424.Compared with urban residents,the level of carbon inclusive literacy of rural residents is generally low,not reaching the national average of1.538.Thirdly,there are differences in carbon inclusive literacy among residents in different regions.The carbon inclusive literacy level of residents in the eastern region is higher than that in the central region,western region and northeast region,that is,compared with other regions,the carbon inclusive literacy level of residents in the eastern region is higher.Lastly,the age of residents has a significant negative impact on the level of carbon inclusive literacy of residents;The education level of residents has a significant positive impact on the carbon inclusive literacy level of residents;Occupation of residents significantly affects their carbon inclusive literacy;The per capita monthly disposable income of residents has a significant positive impact on the carbon inclusive literacy of residents.The research contribution of this paper mainly consists of the following two points:First,the research on carbon inclusive literacy has been expanded.In the past,the research mainly focused on the process of urban carbon emission reduction from the perspective of the carbon inclusive system.Few researchers have included residents’ carbon inclusive literacy as the research object in the scope of research,and no researchers have conducted in-depth research on carbon inclusive literacy.From the new perspective of carbon inclusive literacy,this paper studies the carbon inclusive literacy of Chinese residents by combining questionnaires,and gives the measurement results,and then compares the carbon inclusive literacy of residents in different regions.Compare the differences of carbon inclusive literacy of residents in different regions from a new perspective,and comprehensively,scientifically and specifically summarize the carbon inclusive literacy of Chinese residents.Secondly,according to the definition,connotation and requirements of carbon inclusive literacy,this paper refers to and draws lessons from the financial literacy measurement indicator system of domestic and foreign institutions,organizations and relevant scholars.On the basis of accurately understanding and grasping the connotation of carbon inclusive literacy and following some principles of indicator system construction and design,combined with China’s actual situation The indicator system for measuring the carbon inclusive literacy of Chinese residents has been constructed from three aspects of carbon inclusive behavior and carbon inclusive participation willingness,including three first level indicators and 14 second level indicators,so as to measure the carbon inclusive literacy level of residents in 31 provinces and cities in China.
