The rise of clean energy such as wind energy,solar energy,and nuclear energy around the world has made coal no longer favored by people,but it is still the core of the global energy system and the main energy source of many countries.Due to its unique advantages,the world’s major coal mining countries have vigorously developed open-pit coal mines in the past centur.Among the major coal mining countries in the world,the number and output of open-pit coal mines account for a large proportion.For example,in some coal mining countries such as Germany and Australia,the number and output of open-pit coal mines account for more than 50%,while my country is currently the country with the largest number and largest output of open-pit coal mines in the world.The development of open-pit coal mines can reflect the development of a country’s coal industry to a certain extent.The scale of land occupied and destroyed by open-pit mining of coal mine is large,which is obviously different from the surrounding ground features.The characteristics are very obvious in the high-resolution optical remote sensing image.The mine ground features such as circling transportation roads,large slopes,active mining areas and waste dumps in the mining area are easy to identify,which makes it possible to carry out resource investigation and obtain relevant data through remote sensing technology.As the largest developing country in the world,China ranks first in coal production,consumption and import.The fate of coal depends on China to a great extent.Facing the great changes that have not been seen in a century,the open-pit coal mines vigorously developed by various countries have become the focus of attention,and the study of the distribution of open-pit coal mines is the basis for further developing the open-pit coal industry in China and even the world.The research focus of this paper is to extract the existing facts of open-pit coal mines around the world through data collection,sorting and updating,and use GIS spatial statistical analysis and visualization methods to present them to the public.It can provide reference for the high-quality development of the open-pit coal industry、the optimization of existing industrial layout and the management of ecological environment.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:Taking the typical open-pit coal mine scene as the research object,this paper analyzes the main attention objects of each level from three levels: local regional geoscience environment of open-pit coal mine,open-pit coal mine area and sub functional area of open-pit coal mine.The local regional geographic environment of open-pit coal mine focuses on the regional geographic environment of open-pit coal mine and the influence of open-pit coal mine on other important ground features.Open-pit coal mine area is a description of the macroscopic state of the whole open-pit coal mine,mainly considering the characteristics of the open-pit coal mine itself,including the typical characteristics of the open-pit coal mine scale and distribution characteristics,texture characteristics,temporal feature and so on.The sub-functional area of open-pit coal mine focuses on the functional division of sub-areas within the open-pit coal mine and the corresponding general image characteristics.Finally,the remote sensing interpretation marks of typical open-pit coal mines are established.Based on the research on the characteristics of high-resolution optical remote sensing images of open-pit coal mines,the open-pit coal mines around the world are quickly collected through visual interpretation,and the detailed information of a certain open-pit coal mine is obtained by corroborating with public information on the Internet.After that,the reference sources and format specifications are explained,and a number of coal resource public information websites are included to provide convenience for scientific researchers.Based on reliable open-pit coal mine data,the spatial distribution characteristics of global open-pit coal mines are analyzed from the northern and southern hemispheres,continents,latitudes and national scales by comprehensively using spatial analysis methods such as nearest neighbor index,geographical concentration index and Kernel density estimation,and the distribution of open-pit coal mines in major coal mining countries in the world is analyzed from the perspective of coal output,the number of open-pit coal mines of different sizes,the proportion of open-pit coal mines in various countries and the proportion of output.Finally,the spatial distribution characteristics of main open-pit coal mines in China are emphatically analyzed,and the development layout of open-pit coal mines in China is summarized.This paper analyzes the requirements and functions of the global open-pit coal mine visualization system,introduces the system architecture based on ceisum engine constructed in this paper from three aspects: client,server and data storage,and the special data format of the open-pit coal mine is standardized and explained,and explains in detail the implementation process and results of the basic base map display module,data visualization module and query comment module,and finally completed the release of the open-pit coal mine visualization platform service.The research results show that the spatial distribution characteristics of open-pit coal mines are studied by using GIS spatial statistical analysis method,and the conclusions obtained are basically in line with the actual laws.The test results of the open-pit coal mine visualization system based on the Cesium open source engine show that it has good application potential in the field of open-pit coal mine development and management.It is feasible to use GIS technology to assist the scientific and high-quality development of open-pit coal mines in my country and even in the world.
