Xuan paper,as a kind of outstanding culture paper,has been widely used in art creation,painting framing,cultural relics protection and restoration.Due to the excellent ink running,Xuan paper is very popular with literati ink customers.Since bauxite mainly functions as an ink diffuser and a waterproof solid color,on this basis can play a strengthening and anticorrosion role.The gelatine in alum water can fill fiber gap,encase fiber and prevent ink infiltration.On the other hand,alum has the function of “bridging” and “flocculating”,which can optimize the performance of gelatin and help to retain ink.But alum hydrolyses easily in humid environment,the acid produced accelerates the hydrolysis and aging of paper,making it difficult to preserve ancient books and paintings.Therefore,we should avoid adding alum or need to find substitute bauxite to prevent ink from spreading and not damaging paper.Based on this,this research aims at quantifying the ink performance of Xuan paper by combining the previous research methods and exploring the effect of different concentration on the ink performance and physical properties of each kind of adhesive to compare the optimal composition of each kind of adhesive.This paper firstly combed the development history and research status of the four kinds of adhesive used in the paper,summarized the application and research status of the four kinds of gelatin + alum,peach gel + alum,soybean water and CMC.The results show that when the concentration gradient of gelatin is between 0 ~0.75 wtwt.%,the ink wetting performance changes obviously.When the concentration exceeds 0.75 wt.%,the ink droplets no longer absorb and diffuse,and are highly hydrophobic,so that the droplets cannot be expanded on the surface and still present water shape.When the concentration gradient of peach gum was between 0 ~ 1.6wt.%,the ink wetting performance changed significantly.When the concentration exceeded1.6wt.%,the condensation of ink droplets no longer absorbed and diffused.When the concentration gradient of soybean water is between 0 ~ 12 wt.%,the ink wettability changes obviously.When the concentration exceeds 12 %,the ink droplets condense,the ink wettability tends to be stable,and the strong hydrophobicity is obtained.The mass concentration gradient of sodium CMC changed significantly between 0 ~ 1.75 wt.%.When the concentration exceeded 1.75 wt.%,the ink wettability tended to be stable and the hydrophobicity was general.The four kinds of sizing agents selected in this paper were hydrophobic gelatin > soybean water > peach gum > sodium CMC.Tensile strength The tensile strength of the peach gum sizing sample is most stable with the change of concentration.When the concentration of sodium CMC exceeds 1.6wt.%,the physical properties of the tensile strength are unstable.Finally,it is concluded that gelatin is the most stable sizing agent with the best ink wettability.The optimal concentration ratio is 0.75 wt.% glue + 0.6 wt.% alum,followed by soybean water,and the optimal concentration ratio is 12 wt.%...
