| Under the background of global response to climate change,China became the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases in 2005.In 2019,China’s total carbon emissions exceeded 10 billion tons, and China’s carbon emission reduction work is facing severe challenges. In the process of China’s efforts to realize carbon neutrality in peak carbon dioxide emissions, cities are the main battlefield of China’s carbon emission reduction, and coal cities are the key to China’s urban carbon emssion reduction. In this article, coal cities are taken as the research object, and the specific path of carbon emission reduction in coal cities is explored by studying the correlation between carbon emission reduction and economic development in coal cities, aiming at promoting China’s overall realization of carbon neutrality in peak carbon dioxide emissions. In this article,Ordos City,Inner Mongolia,Jincheng City,Shanxi Province and Yulin City,Shaanxi Province, which are representative cities of coal types, are selected as research samples to find and sort out the total energy consumption and urban GDP data of three sample cities from 2007 to 2019.Firstly,this article calculates the total carbon emissions of sample cities from 2007 to 2019 by carbon dioxide emissions calculation model, and calculates the decoupling coefficient between urban carbon emissions and economic development by Tapio decoupling model from urban GDP data. The decoupling state between urban carbon emissions and economic development can be judged by the change rate of urban carbon emissions and GDP and the decoupling coefficient of cities.Secondly, using the multiple linear regression model, taking urban coal production and thermal power generation as independent variables, this article analyzes the degree of their influence on carbon emissions and economic development, aiming at analyzing the influencing factors of carbon emissions and economic development in coal cities.According to the above data analysis results, reasonably infer the decoupling status quo and trend of carbon emissions and economic development in coal cities,as well as the related factors that affect urban carbon emissions and economic development. Finally, clarify the difficulties and challenges of carbon emission reduction in coal cities, and finally put forward relevant policy suggestions such as changing urban development mode, adjusting industrial and energy structure and developing circular economy for the path of carbon emission reduction in coal cities. |
