Rice is one of the important food crops,and more than half of the world’s population feed on rice.With the development of our country’s economy,the people’s requirements for material life are getting higher and higher,and stricter evaluation standards are put forward for the quality of rice.The use of color sorters to sort rice is an important way to improve the quality of rice.However,at present,domestic color sorters still have room for further improvement in the distinction of fine colors,the improvement of the specific performance and the use of artificial intelligence.Therefore,this paper studies the image acquisition and processing system of the color sorter from the hardware platform and the color sorting algorithm,in order to make the color sorter obtain better color sorting effects.This paper designs a color sorter image acquisition and processing system based on color linear CCD.The system uses FPGA as the main controller,with high-speed linear CCD image sensor TCD2564 DG and DDR2 SDRAM memory,to realizes image acquisition and real-time processing in the FPFA chip simultaneously.In addition,the image processing algorithm for rice color selection has been investigated Image white balance preprocessing,threshold recognition of different kinds of abnormal rice based on HSV color space,and center positioning of abnormal rice based on circumscribed rectangle method have been implemented in FPGA through Verilog HDL hardware description language.Finally,the W5500 ethernet control chip is selected to implement network communication in order to realize high-speed image data transmission between the system and the upper computer;the RS-485 communication interface is used to realize the instruction and data transmission between the upper computer and each image processing board;the RS-422 interface is used to realize the transmission of the air gun drive signal of the sorting system.This project completed the design and implementation of the color sorter image acquisition and processing system based on color linear CCD,and carried out the overall experimental verification and functional test of the system.The simulation verified the effect of image white balance preprocessing and the identification results of different types of abnormal rice,and also verified the accuracy of the abnormal rice center positioning.The experimental results show that the image acquisition and processing system designed in this project has achieved the expected goal and can improve the performance index of the color sorter,which has certain practical value.
