producer services are an important support for the high-end and intelligent manufacturing industry.Nowadays, local governments vigorously promote the agglomeration development of producer services as one of the important starting points to promote urbanization and industrial upgrading.Producer services agglomeration is an important way to promote the transformation of economic development mode and achieve high-quality development.Economic development is important, but at the same time,we should also see that the environmental problems we face can not be underestimated. In recent years,China has paid close attention to industrial pollution control and achieved remarkable results, but the improvement effect of China’s industrial pollution is not stable enough, and the prevention and control of industrial pollution still has a long way to go.Through theoretical analysis, this paper finds that producer services agglomeration in local and surrounding areas can reduce industrial pollution through direct effect and indirect effect. In order to further test the impact of producer services agglomeration on industrial pollution, this paper is based on 4080 panel data of 272 prefecture level cities in China from 2003 to 2017.Firstly,from the perspective of diversified agglomeration and professional agglomeration of producer services, this paper preliminarily tests its impact on industrial pollution through ordinary panel regression. Then,a spatial regression model is established to explore and decompose the effect. Then, the robustness test is used to verify whether the conclusion of this study is robust. Finally, the regional differences of the research objects are analyzed through heterogeneity analysis, and it is found that there are obvious differences between regions. The innovation of this study is that based on the data of prefecture level cities, this paper introduces the method of spatial econometrics to explore the impact of producer services agglomeration on industrial pollution from the perspective of spatial vision, and draws the following conclusions: first, producer services agglomeration can effectively reduce industrial pollution through direct and indirect effects:(1)Compared with the direct effect of local producer services agglomeration, the indirect effect of producer services agglomeration in surrounding areas has a greater inhibitory effect on industrial pollution.(2)from the perspective of direct effects,The agglomeration of local producer services has a significant inhibitory effect on industrial pollution, and diversified agglomeration has a greater inhibitory effect on industrial pollution.(3)From the perspective of indirect effect, producer services agglomeration in surrounding areas will also significantly inhibit the emission of local industrial pollution, and the spillover effect produced by professional agglomeration has a greater inhibitory effect on industrial pollution.Second, the impact of producer services agglomeration on industrial pollution shows strong regional heterogeneity:(1)the direct effect of producer services agglomeration on industrial pollution basically shows a gradual weakening trend from the east to the middle to the West.(2)The spillover effect of diversified agglomeration of producer services in the eastern region is significant, while the spillover effect of professional agglomeration of producer services in the central and western regions is significant.According to the research results, the article suggests that we should increase the development of producer services and promote their diversification and professional agglomeration. At the same time, when pursuing development or pollution control, all localities should not be alone. They should cooperate with the surrounding areas and establish an inter regional coordinated development and governance mechanism. Finally, due to the differences in geographical environment and economic foundation, all regions should adjust measures to local conditions and implement policies accurately. |
